Summary
The women of the Cheng family must choose a beastkin to raise as their lifelong mate. In her first life, Cheng Yi chose the beautiful fox Pei Lang—only for his enchantment and devotion to her half sister to lead her to a brutal death. Reborn on selection day, she passes him over and claims Bai Chuan, a frail white snake destined to become the beastkin leader who changes the world. But Bai Chuan is far more dangerous, calculating, and grown than he appears. As Cheng Yi seeks a cure for him and turns Pei Lang’s schemes back on her sister, wary cooperation becomes trust—and trust becomes a bond neither of them expected to carry across two lifetimes.
