The Fifth District Chief felt a sudden chill at his throat.

His body shuddered violently. Eyes wide, he turned to look at Lu Ziyi and Lu Hao, his face filled with disbelief.

These were his children.

Children who had always tried their best to behave in front of him, so obedient!

The Fifth District Chief’s fingers clutched tightly at his throat as blood spurted out, quickly dyeing his collar crimson.

“Shopkeeper… save… save… me…”

He didn’t want to die!

“Shopkeeper… Daughter of God… miracle… give me…”

Gu Huaiwei watched as blood bubbled out from the gaping wound on his neck, gurgling, then out from his mouth, then his nostrils, frothing with red bubbles.

The Fifth District Chief fell from his wheelchair.

He used all his strength to crawl toward Gu Huaiwei.

“Save… save…”

His blood-soaked hand stretched desperately forward, trying to grab Gu Huaiwei.

Even at this moment, he still thought Gu Huaiwei could save him.

Gu Huaiwei took a step back to avoid being splattered with blood.

How is she supposed to save him?

Gu Huaiwei wasn’t a god. There was no way she could patch up the hole in his throat.

Lu Ziyi committed murder, and that was none of Gu Huaiwei’s business.

“Ah, Daddy, what’s wrong?”

“You’re bleeding so much, does it hurt?”

Lu Ziyi pressed her foot onto the Fifth District Chief’s back, a faint smile blooming on her charming face.

Her purple cheongsam looked especially seductive against the backdrop of blood.

“Let me help you pull it out. Once it’s out, it won’t hurt anymore.”

She bent down and slowly drew the dagger out from the Chief’s throat. Beads of blood trickled down the blade, splattering onto her satin shoes.

“Daddy, actually, both my brother and I love you very much. Don’t worry, we’ll take you back to the Fifth District in one piece and give you a lively funeral.”

“We’ll also inherit your position, manage the Fifth District well, and make sure your hard work isn’t wasted.”

Lu Ziyi gently licked the blood off the dagger with the tip of her tongue, then tossed the dagger to her brother, Lu Hao.

Lu Hao frowned the whole time, his hand constantly touching the ear full of black earrings, looking somewhat uneasy.

Gu Huaiwei watched as the Fifth District Chief struggled, then breathed his last.

He died with his eyes open.

How tragic.

The Fifth District Chief’s blood stained the carpet red.

Gu Huaiwei sat on the armrest of the living room sofa, thinking to herself: Now that the resident is dead, who should cover the cleaning fee?

The carpet cleaning for the presidential suite costs fifty Gold Coins.

There’s no way to charge a dead man.

Gu Huaiwei decided to put this bill on Lu Ziyi’s tab.

“You don’t look surprised at all?” Lu Ziyi’s voice was soft and seductive, yet with a chilling edge. “Are you that brave, or just scared out of your mind?”

Gu Huaiwei yawned. “You killed your dad. What’s it got to do with me?”

This was the second time someone had killed a man right in front of Gu Huaiwei.

As the saying goes, the first time is awkward, the second time you get used to it.

Gu Huaiwei wasn’t nearly as shocked as the first time.

Lu Ziyi put one hand on her hip and pouted, sounding a bit dissatisfied. “My poor father was stabbed through the throat in your hotel. As the owner, shouldn’t you take responsibility?”

Gu Huaiwei narrowed her eyes slightly, black hair falling over her shoulders, her tone eerily calm: “You want to pin it on me?”

“Don’t make it sound so ugly. I just hope you’ll give us an explanation.”

Gu Huaiwei still had the mood to joke: “An explanation? Want me to arrange another dad for you?”

Lu Ziyi and Lu Hao exchanged a glance.

The next second, both of them suddenly flung themselves onto the Fifth District Chief’s corpse and started acting.
Lu Ziyi clung tightly to the already cold body of the Fifth District Chief. She cried out in panic and helplessness, her tears streaming uncontrollably down her delicate cheeks and falling onto the chief’s face, whose eyes would never close in peace.

“Dad… sob… don’t die, let me stop the bleeding for you.”

“Why! Why is there so much blood! No matter how I try, I can’t stop it… Dad, without you, what will my brother and I do? Please, don’t die… don’t!”

Lu Ziyi sobbed so hard that she could barely speak, her shoulders shaking violently and her voice hoarse.

Gu Huaiwei watched coldly. She thought this performance deserved an eighty.

She deducted the remaining twenty points because the lines were too exaggerated.

Lu Hao was kneeling on the floor, overwhelmed by grief, clenching his fists and pounding them hard against the ground. “Damn it! Dad, I swear I’ll spend the rest of my life avenging you! I’ll make those who hurt you pay the price!”

This one gets a seventy – the lines were normal, but the emotion wasn’t there.

After their double act, and seeing that no one had rushed in from outside, Lu Ziyi stood up and opened the door to call for help.

Lu Hao prepared himself, planning to charge at Gu Huaiwei and pretend to fight her for his life once the bodyguards came in.

Gu Huaiwei did not stop them.

She looked at the chaotic scene before her and sighed inwardly.

She felt that running a small business really wasn’t easy.

While Lu Ziyi left the corpse to seek outside help, Gu Huaiwei took action.

She picked up the ashtray nearby, hid it behind her back, and walked over to Lu Hao, who was still acting.

“Hey, stop acting. You don’t have an audience right now.”

Lu Hao stopped, his plain features twisting into a distorted grin. “Shopkeeper, you can’t escape. Unless you cooperate with us, the Fifth District will never let you or your shop go, hahaha.”

“Mm, I never planned to escape.”

The next second, Gu Huaiwei took advantage of his distraction and smashed the ashtray down on his head.

With a clang.

She held nothing back in this strike.

The skull is very hard; it’s difficult for a girl to knock out an adult man with sheer force in one hit.

But Gu Huaiwei was very strong from her previous training. With just one blow, she achieved her aim.

“You…” Warm blood flowed down Lu Hao’s forehead. He didn’t have time to finish his sentence before the world spun and he fainted.

Looking at Lu Hao, collapsed on the ground, Gu Huaiwei genuinely admired their ruthlessness.

“Blood ties are the deepest bonds in the world, yet you two could strike so decisively. I have to say, I’m impressed.”

After sighing, Gu Huaiwei walked behind the TV cabinet and pressed the living room’s automatic cleaning button and the emergency rescue button.

The green carpet softened, as if it were living flesh, and swallowed the corpse of the Fifth District Chief along with the unconscious Lu Hao, leaving only a patch of bloodstains behind.

Lu Ziyi brought the bodyguards and nurses standing at the door into the room.

She found it a bit odd.

Just now, they’d made so much noise.

These people had been standing right at the door, yet hadn’t heard a thing.

According to the plan, when she stabbed the Fifth District Chief in the throat with the dagger, they should have burst in.

How could this damn hotel have such good soundproofing?

Lu Ziyi had no time to worry about these strange details. With eyes full of tears, she sobbed as she led the bodyguards into the room.

“Quick… save my dad! That damned shop girl… she… she hurt my dad!”

“I just saw with my own eyes – she stabbed my dad through the throat with a dagger!”
