Double Defiance - Chapter 4
The foremost sword cultivator of the age could now do nothing but sit obediently on the bed and let me do with him as I pleased.
I threw my head back and cackled three times. Grinding my itching teeth, I caught Shen Lingshuang by the chin with insolent fingers. “You were awfully arrogant during the day. Go on, show me that arrogance again.”
“…”
Shen Lingshuang gave no response. He rested his face obediently in my palm, without the faintest awareness of resistance.
Normally, his presence was so oppressive, his aura so much like frost and snow, that it could practically freeze a person to death.
For that reason, few people dared look closely at his face.
And so no one realized that the foremost sword cultivator of the age possessed a beauty just as peerless as his skill.
His flawless, moon-bright face was only inches from mine. The wild thrill of triumph rushing through me abruptly faltered.
My original plan had been to punch him twice in the face once the hypnosis worked, vent my anger, force the route down the mountain out of him, and flee overnight.
But now, as I watched Shen Lingshuang’s lips drift close enough to brush my fingertips, I found myself unable to look away. Even my heartbeat lost its rhythm.
Without thinking, I lowered my head and moved closer to his face.
Only when his cool breath fell against my cheek did I snap back to my senses and stop myself just short of doing something absurd.
I cleared my throat and cast around for something to say. “Hey. Do you know who I am right now?”
Shen Lingshuang’s voice was mild. “Yingyu.”
That was all.
That was it?
I stared at him. “And? What am I to you?”
“Is admitting I’m your disciple really so embarrassing?”
But no matter what I said, Shen Lingshuang refused to answer.
I knew it. He looked down on me for being a demon. He had never regarded me as his disciple at all!
I was so angry I wanted to bite him.
And as a great Celestial Demon who always acted on her desires, I really did.
With an “owrr,” I sank my teeth into Shen Lingshuang’s mouth. “If you don’t consider me your disciple, what right do you have to confine and punish me? I hate you!”
“All you ever do is say things I don’t want to hear. Damn you! I’m going to kiss your mouth raw!”
I sucked his lips into my mouth as if they were a piece of candied fruit, poking and grinding them now and then with my fangs.
Mmm… They were cool, not as sweet as candied fruit, but surprisingly tasty.
Gripping his chin, I gnawed and bit to my heart’s content, pouring all my anger into it.
Halfway through, it struck me that something felt wrong.
I raised my eyes and found Shen Lingshuang staring straight at me without blinking.
His misted black eyes resembled a deep pool veiled in fog. It looked peaceful and harmless, yet somewhere in the cold depths, something terrifying seemed to be watching me in secret.
My own inexplicable thought frightened me. My hand instinctively released his chin, and my head drew back.
But as I tried to retreat, Shen Lingshuang—until then as still as a puppet—suddenly raised a hand and clamped it around the back of my neck.
With a slight exertion of strength, he pressed me back toward him, tilted his head, and licked my lips.
My eyes widened in shock. “What are you doing?!”
Shen Lingshuang ignored me. With solemn concentration, he took my lips between his, apparently imitating what I had done to him.
After a moment’s consideration, however, he used the instant I opened my mouth to speak to push straight inside, smothering my stream of curses.
His kisses grew harder and harder. For a few moments, I even had the dazed impression that he meant to swallow me alive.
The discomfort of having my territory invaded and the terror of being devoured made me tremble and hold my breath.
Shen Lingshuang tilted his head in confusion and kissed me forcefully a few more times. Only when he realized I was about to suffocate did he reluctantly withdraw from my mouth.
He wiped the silvery thread from the corner of my lips, then touched my kiss-swollen mouth. His tone remained calm and dull. “Yingyu. Useless little thing.”
I stared at him.
The fucking nerve of this bastard!
