Feed Me, Husband - Chapter 75
Chapter 75
Ruan Beibei turned and ran away the moment she saw the scene.
Lu Yichen couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief when he saw her leave. His face slightly flushed, he released Gu Xiaonuan from his embrace. “I’m sorry, Teacher Gu. From that distance, it really did look like we were kissing.”
With a reddened face, Lu Yichen continued, “I didn’t actually touch you. She hadn’t left yet, so I… I had no choice but to do that.”
“It’s fine.”
Gu Xiaonuan spoke as she walked into the apartment building with him, appearing largely indifferent.
“Are you used to things like this, Teacher Gu? You didn’t seem surprised at all.” In the elevator, with only the two of them present, Lu Yichen leaned gently against one side.
“I was already prepared to be slapped by Teacher Gu.”
“You knew your boundaries, and you didn’t actually kiss me.” Gu Xiaonuan leaned against the opposite side and looked at him. “She followed us here. We shouldn’t come back together anymore.”
“It would be great if she could just give up now. I hope so,” he said with a light chuckle. “There’s nothing wrong with me coming back with Teacher Gu. If we purposefully avoid walking together, it’ll make us look like we have a guilty conscience instead.”
His dark eyes drifted to the ring on Gu Xiaonuan’s hand, his gaze filled with warmth. “Teacher Gu must love her husband very much; you always wear your ring.”
Gu Xiaonuan gave a noncommittal hum. The elevator arrived, and the two stepped out together.
“She saw the ring on your hand just now. Teacher Gu… would you like to switch to a different one?”
Gu Xiaonuan froze for a moment upon hearing this, her red lips pursing slightly. “No need.”
“If she connects it back to Teacher Gu because she saw the same ring…” Lu Yichen opened his door. “Of course, I hope her imagination isn’t that vivid.”
Standing at her own doorstep, Gu Xiaonuan looked down at the band on her ring finger, her brow furrowing deep.
That night, the sound of a window opening echoed in the quiet.
Gu Xiaonuan’s figure leaped out, soaring like a bird through the dark night.
In the room next door, Lu Yichen stood by his bed, watching Gu Xiaonuan’s flying silhouette. A thin smile played on his lips.
He lightly rubbed his thumb against his lips, as if her scent still lingered there.
The university campus on a summer night was filled with the sound of insects mixing with the wind.
It was now 2:00 AM, and the streetlights had all been extinguished.
Outside the window of the girls’ dormitory, a dark shadow flew over like a bird and vanished in the blink of an eye.
Gu Xiaonuan stood inside Ruan Beibei’s four-person dorm room, her blood-red eyes watching the four young women sleeping soundly.
She walked to Ruan Beibei’s bedside and leaned her body slightly over her, forcing Ruan Beibei to open her eyes in a daze.
The moment she opened her eyes, cold hands straightened her face.
Gu Xiaonuan’s blood-red eyes stared into those misty dark ones. After a brief moment of clarity, Ruan Beibei’s confused gaze turned into a state of total chaos.
The blood of the elder Vampire had strengthened Gu Xiaonuan’s Blood Clan ability; her hypnosis was no longer as low-level as it once was.
While she couldn’t achieve the same level of mastery as Ji Xiangnan, she was now capable of erasing any segment of memory from a human’s past two days.
After wiping the memory of Ruan Beibei seeing the ring, Gu Xiaonuan climbed down from the bed soundlessly. She spotted another dark shadow lurking into a different dorm room, just as she had.
Gu Xiaonuan frowned slightly but walked away, pretending not to see.
There were Fellow Kin within this university.
Vampires who were good at disguising themselves could remain university students forever. For a vampire, the type of prey and the hunting grounds were never fixed.
In all her years in D City, Gu Xiaonuan had never interfered with the hunting or feeding of any Fellow Kin, which had allowed her to settle down peacefully in this city.
Perhaps it was also because they could smell the ancient blood within her-blood different from theirs-which let the other Kin know that although she was young, she was not one to be trifled with.
Leaping back through her window, Gu Xiaonuan let out a soft sigh and turned to close the window securely.
When she turned back around, however, she froze.
She had entered the wrong room.
Lying on the bed was Lu Yichen.
A thin blanket was draped over his waist, and from the look of it, he seemed to be… sleeping naked.
Gu Xiaonuan instinctively tried to open the window to leave, but she heard him turn over on the bed. He had originally been lying with his back to her, but now he had turned around.
The blanket slid down from his waist with the movement.
“Teacher Gu?”
For some reason, Lu Yichen had woken up.
Whoosh!
Gu Xiaonuan lunged onto the bed, pinning his hands down. Moonlight from the uncurtained window streamed into the room.
Her blood-red eyes, his hazy black gaze, and his flushing cheeks were all clearly reflected in each other’s sight.
“Why is… Teacher Gu in my room?” he murmured softly, his dark eyes fixed on hers. “Are those… red eyes?”
Gu Xiaonuan looked deep into his eyes and spoke in a low voice, “Forget that you saw me. You never saw me.”
Lu Yichen looked at her and smiled.
“Why should I forget?”
Gu Xiaonuan was stunned. He hadn’t been charmed! He had actually resisted her hypnosis! How was that possible?
“Is this a dream?” His murmur reached Gu Xiaonuan’s ears. He wasn’t fully awake; he seemed immersed in a state between dreaming and waking.
Gu Xiaonuan frowned. It was fine if he thought it was a dream, but why had her hypnosis failed on him?
“It must be a dream. Otherwise, how could Teacher Gu be in my arms?”
As he whispered, his hand reached behind her and pressed her down against him, his warm arms tightening around her.
“Teacher Gu is so cool… like a block of ice.”
His hand slipped under Gu Xiaonuan’s clothes, boldly stroking her back. “It’s a dream, right…”
Pressed firmly into his embrace, Gu Xiaonuan only wanted to wait for him to finish his sleep-talking and fall back asleep so she could leave.
However, the hand on her back seemed to be getting more and more presumptuous.
“Teacher Gu… can I call you by your name?”
Lu Yichen’s breath brushed against her ear. “In a dream, it should be okay.”
With a surge of strength in his arm, he pulled her to his side. The blanket at his waist slid completely to the floor.
His handsome physique was fully presented before Gu Xiaonuan’s eyes, along with his very real physical reaction.
“Xiaonuan.”
He called out softly. “Xiaonuan, Xiaonuan, Xiaonuan…”
Each call made Gu Xiaonuan suddenly feel as if she couldn’t breathe.
The cross-shaped mark on her neck seemed to come alive again, appearing on her fair skin. The chain that had been dormant for five years began to surge once more.
Gu Xiaonuan gasped for air, feeling the uncontrollable throbbing of her body. *Impossible, this is impossible!*
Her Blood Contract only reacted to Lu Yichen; her body could only respond to his call and his alone!
Panting, Gu Xiaonuan lifted her head and stared at the face before her-a face so strikingly similar. *Who are you?*
Lu Yichen’s calling ceased. Holding Gu Xiaonuan, he seemed to have fallen asleep again.
It took a long time for Gu Xiaonuan to find her breath. She pushed his arms aside, quickly got off the bed, opened the window, and leaped out without looking back.
A moment later, the man lying on the bed slowly sat up. He rested his chin on his hand, looking thoughtfully at the open window.
In order to achieve a contract that could never be broken, he had used a true death to deceive the contract, fulfilling the condition for it to be permanent.
That day in the church, he had truly died. His heart had stopped beating.
To meet those conditions, he had deliberately attacked Gong Lin to lure Ji Xiangnan to Europe, where he encountered this destitute, hunted elder Vampire.
Lu Yichen pressed his hand against his beating heart. Without the blood of a vampire of a certain age, he wouldn’t have been able to come back to life.
After all, an 800-year-old vampire wasn’t someone you just happened to run into every day.
Lu Yichen glanced at the blanket he had intentionally let slide to the floor, looked at his own fit body, and pulled the blanket back up with a light chuckle.
No rush. This time, he had all the time in the world.
