First Glimpse of Light - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
While out on a training expedition with my Senior Brother, Zhuoqing, we accidentally stumbled into a Secret Realm.
It was the indecent kind.
The kind that required physical intimacy to leave.
I looked at my cold and peerless Eldest Senior Brother. After a long moment of contemplation, I finally spoke up. “Senior Brother, should we… cuddle?”
Afraid he would refuse, I hurriedly added, “Just for a moment!”
Senior Brother was dressed in robes as white as snow, his features aloof and refined. “There must be another way out.”
The Secret Realm Spirit spoke up: “There is. You just need to break through to the Spirit Transformation Stage.”
“Given your current cultivation, it should only take another hundred years or so.”
Without a flicker of emotion, Senior Brother sat down on the ground. “Qiao Qiao, I will do my best to break through as soon as possible.”
I nearly dropped to my knees before him. “Senior Brother, with my current cultivation, I don’t think I’ll live that long.”
Senior Brother fell silent, his gaze finally landing on me.
I shed my outer robe and approached him nervously. “Senior Brother, I know your heart is set on the Great Dao and that you never indulge in romance. Just… treat me like a mannequin.”
Senior Brother’s body stiffened. He grabbed my hand just as I reached for his outer robe.
I grew even more nervous. “Senior Brother, don’t worry, I won’t ask you to take responsibility.”
“Please, have a heart. Save your cute, kind, and beautiful Junior Sister.”
Senior Brother’s furrowed brow relaxed slightly.
I tentatively pushed his hand aside, summoned my courage, and leaned in to press a kiss against his lips.
How strange.
For such a cold man, his lips were surprisingly warm and soft.
Senior Brother’s eyes were fixed intently on me.
He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something.
I didn’t let him. I swallowed his words whole.
After a long while, I looked at him and whispered, “Senior Brother, close your eyes.”
His eyelashes trembled slightly, but in the end, he actually listened and closed them.
I dazed out for a moment while looking at his face.
No wonder seven out of every ten junior sisters are in love with him.
It really is a handsome face, as clear as ice and as pure as snow.
Once it was over, the Secret Realm Spirit fulfilled its promise and let us out.
Just before we stepped out of the Secret Realm, it spoke to me with a sudden streak of mischief: “You can choose to erase the memories of one of you.”
Without a second thought, I said, “Erase mine.”
Senior Brother looked stunned.
My expression was sincere. “Senior Brother, your heart holds nothing but the Great Dao. I’m sure this matter is nothing more than a passing cloud to you.”
“But my mental cultivation is incomplete. If I remember this, it will surely give rise to an Inner Demon. How could I continue my cultivation then?”
And so, when we left the Secret Realm, my world had returned to normal.
I noticed Senior Brother looking at me with a somewhat complicated gaze.
Confused, I asked, “Senior Brother, what’s wrong?”
It took a long time before he replied, “Nothing.”
I smiled. “Then let’s continue to the next training spot.”
“This Secret Realm was quite a bountiful harvest.”
Senior Brother’s gaze turned strange again.
I frowned. I hadn’t said anything odd, had I?
I had found several high-grade spirit herbs in that Secret Realm. Wasn’t that a bountiful harvest?
After walking a few steps, I muttered in confusion, “I didn’t suffer any injuries in the Secret Realm earlier…”
“So why do my waist and… hurt so much?”
Senior Brother’s pace faltered. “…Is it serious?”
I rubbed my lower back. “It’s alright.”
Senior Brother fell silent and didn’t speak again.
