Half White Moonlight Script - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Xu Luo started cautiously telling me about the past-parentheses, adapted version.
That day, she was in the middle of describing how I’d been blind enough to become Dao Companions with my Junior Brother, Yuan Yuan. But who would’ve thought he was despicable and shameless, scraping by in disgrace, even keeping her around as a stand-in-utterly trampling human decency and devoid of all conscience!
She was really good at telling stories. By the end, she looked like she’d convinced even herself.
My expression turned complicated.
“So that’s how it is,” I humored her.
“How is it? Tell me too.”
I turned around. Well, damn-Yuan Yuan was standing at the doorway with a dead-man’s face, watching us.
When did he get here? I hadn’t sensed a thing.
Damn it! He’s gotten even more diligent with his cultivation.
Xu Luo jolted in fright and immediately hid behind me. I also instinctively reached back, shielding her.
“Why’d you stop?” Yuan Yuan walked closer step by step, sword in hand. “I wasn’t done listening.”
Xu Luo seized the moment to shout, “Sister, look-he’s trying to kill me to silence me! Everything I said is true!”
Me: …
The enemy is strong and we are weak, so please shut up. Don’t start slandering someone right in front of the person involved.
Yuan Yuan stared at me quietly. “Se-”
“Senior Sister, you’re back.”
He tried to pull up a smile, but in the end, he failed. He took off the white crown on his head, then removed his white outer robe.
Xu Luo jumped. “What are you doing, what are you doing? Stripping in broad daylight to seduce my sister? Have you no shame?”
I fell silent.
Before, I hadn’t looked closely. I’d assumed he’d just changed his clothing style after becoming an Immortal Venerable. Only today did I realize the cut and style of those garments were no different from what a widower in the mortal realm would wear.
“Ah Luo!” I spoke up to stop her. Xu Luo tugged at my sleeve, pouting.
Yuan Yuan gave a strange little laugh. “You two really are thick as thieves.”
He looked straight at me, sorrow in his eyes. “Xu Zhi, I hate you.”
“Every day for the past thousand years, I’ve hated you-hated you enough to want to eat your flesh, drink your blood, and sleep on your skin.”
Guiltily, I avoided his gaze.
When I didn’t respond, Yuan Yuan’s expression grew colder still.
He formed a Sword Art and pointed it at Xu Luo. “Wicked Disciple, you think hiding behind her means I won’t strike? It’s been a thousand years. I stopped loving her long ago.”
Xu Luo drawled sarcastically, “Uh, nobody asked whether you love her or hate her.”
“Why are you breaking down, huh-mmph!”
I clapped a hand over Xu Luo’s mouth, forcing an awkward smile.
“Sorry. My little sister doesn’t really know how to speak. Please forgive her.”
This unlucky kid-her entire combat power was concentrated in her mouth.
“Immortal Venerable, if you have something to say, please continue.”
Yuan Yuan: …
“I have nothing to say.”
“Then we’ll be going.” I dragged Xu Luo and fled at top speed.
Once again, my thanks to Yuan Yuan and Sect Leader Senior Brother for their generous gifts!
When I return to my peak, I’ll definitely come pay my respects in person-and properly thank you!
