How to Tame a Mad Dog - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I only let Han Yang go after I’d kissed him breathless enough that he was finally willing to talk to me. Then I set the boxed meals I’d bought in front of him.
When Han Yang saw the meat, he didn’t say a word, but his eyes lit up honestly enough.
Seeing how fast he was eating, I handed him a bottle of water. “Slow down. Both of these are yours. I’m not going to fight you for them.”
Han Yang’s movements slowed. He asked, “When can I leave?”
“Leave? Leave where? You’re staying right here and behaving yourself.”
Han Yang glanced at me, then lowered his head and went back to digging through his food.
The truth was, I wanted to take Han Yang straight home with me. I didn’t know the details of his actual living situation, but judging from the state he was in now, it probably wouldn’t be long before Han Yang ended up back on that dangerous old path.
But with Han Yang’s current temperament, the second I told him that, he would yank the IV out of his arm and charge out of the ward without a care in the world.
With that in mind, I started planning a gentler way to trick Han Yang into coming back with me first.
But Han Yang still ran.
In the one minute I went to the bathroom, he climbed out from the second floor.
Aside from the envelope of cash being half-empty, everything else was still sitting exactly where it had been, completely untouched.
Fine. Fine, Han Yang. You’re really something.
I crushed the snacks I’d bought for Han Yang in my hand, spraying chip crumbs all over the bodyguard beside me.
The bodyguard looked at the paused figure on the surveillance footage and asked, “Young Master, should we bring him back?”
“No need.”
I dialed a number. “Hello? Cheng Yizhong, help me look into someone. His name is Han Yang.”
“A guy?”
The person on the other end muttered, “No way, Chen Yi. Are you seriously hooking up with a man? Someone told me yesterday, and I didn’t believe it.”
“It’s only been a few days since I last saw you. How did your sexual orientation change?”
“Even if you like men now, don’t pick someone who looks so grimy. And he’s got that fierce look on his face, too. If that’s what you’re into, I can find you a few better ones. Guaranteed satisfaction.”
I leaned back against the spot where Han Yang had been lying and closed my eyes. “Cut the crap. Can you check or not? If you can’t, I’ll find someone else.”
“I can, I can. Give me some time.”
“Find out where he lives first. I need to see him urgently. I remember you had your eye on a car last time?”
“Done! Done!” Cheng Yizhong’s voice instantly grew a little excited. “Leave it to me, don’t worry. I’ll even dig up how many pairs of underwear he’s bought.”
The location was remote, a stretch of single-story houses.
I stopped and started along the way, searching for a long time before finally coming to a halt outside one of the courtyards.
I had just gotten my footing when the half-closed door was knocked open by something. A gray-white mutt dragged its lower body as it barked furiously in my direction.
Not long after, a familiar voice chased after the little dog. “Zhaocai, why did you knock the door open again? It’s freezing!”
The little dog stood a few meters away from me, barking wildly.
It was only the moment I saw Han Yang that I suddenly realized something.
From the day I met Han Yang until now, I had never truly understood his past.
