My eunuch husband, the man whose power overshadowed the entire court, was standing at the far end of the corridor, looking at me with an indescribable expression.

He was dressed in red, his face as flawless as carved jade, a touch of crimson rouge at the corners of his eyes. He looked like some kind of enchanting spirit-beautiful, seductive, and dangerously alluring.

No one had ever told me that a man, even after becoming a eunuch, could be so breathtakingly beautiful.

And there I was at the other end of the corridor.

Tortured half to death by diarrhea, with mud still smeared across my face.

“Whose little maid is this? She looks like a beggar child.” He clicked his tongue and shook his head, his tone dripping with obvious disdain.

I pretended not to hear and hunched over, preparing to flee back to my room.

But as I passed him, he reached out as if catching a kitten, grabbed me by the back of my collar, and lifted me up.

“You see your husband and don’t even greet him?”

He smiled without quite smiling, exuding a rather domineering-CEO sort of air. My whole body went stiff, and I could only force myself to greet him.

“H-hello…”

I was doomed.

I had thought he hadn’t recognized me, but from his tone, he seemed angry. Everyone said Lord Qiansui was moody and unpredictable, that he killed without blinking…

Before I could think any further, he had already tossed me into the bathing room behind him.

Before leaving, he even called in a few maids and ordered them to clean me up, then send me to his room.

From what the maids said, Lord Qiansui had found out I tried to run away. To put an end to that idea, he intended to consummate the marriage with me tonight.

No. I still had to escape.

I had only just run to the door when it was pushed open. Lord Qiansui walked in carrying a wine pot.

He glanced at my bare feet and frowned. “Cold enters through the feet. Get back in bed.”

The first half sounded so doting. The second half was terrifying.

So scared I immediately rolled back onto the bed and covered my feet with the quilt.

Lord Qiansui filled a cup with wine and handed it over.

I shrank my hand back and didn’t dare take it.

He gave a self-mocking laugh. “You despise me for being a eunuch so much you won’t even touch what I prepared?” With that, he drained the cup in one gulp.

I looked at him.

I wanted to say that wasn’t it. I didn’t despise him for being a eunuch. Besides, he was such a good-looking eunuch.

The main thing was, I was afraid he’d have me torn apart by five horses.

Before I could answer, he suddenly seized both my wrists and tied them up.

After he finished tying me, he wasn’t in any hurry to do anything else. He simply sat there and watched me, the rouge at the corners of his eyes vivid and beguiling, making him look even more like a bewitching spirit.

My stomach churned like a stormy sea.

“Can you untie me first? I need to use the toilet.”

He didn’t budge.

I got a little angry.

“If you’ve got the balls, fight me one-on-one! What kind of man ties me up like this?”

He looked at me and smiled.

“I’m a eunuch. I lost those balls long ago.”

It was over. Only I would curse a eunuch for having no balls right to his face.

Sure enough, the next second, he reached out and stroked my face, his touch very light.

“You can’t do this to me. Have you forgotten the Empress of the Central Palace? She’s still waiting for you to go to her. Boohoo…”

As soon as I mentioned the Empress, he indeed withdrew his hand.

When the maid came in and saw the wine pot, she looked full of regret. “That was medicine Lord Qiansui had a physician prescribe for your diarrhea, Madam. Why didn’t you drink it?”

Who puts medicine in a wine pot?

On the way back to the capital, the Damned Eunuch rode his horse up front the entire time and refused to share the carriage with me. He had probably developed a psychological shadow because of me.

I was more than happy to enjoy the peace and quiet.

After we returned to the palace, the Damned Eunuch immediately entered the imperial palace to meet his old flame.

I stayed in the residence, pondering how to avenge the humiliation of that night while also avoiding the fate of being torn apart by five horses at his hands…

Lord Qiansui had been gravely wounded while protecting the Empress, and I was to bring a few changes of clothing into the palace and attend to him.
