I'm the Green Tea Junior Sister - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
The world spun around me.
I landed hard on my backside, the impact jarring my bones.
After struggling to my feet, panic began to set in.
It was pitch black here, clearly underground. Quite a few people had fallen down with me, but I didn’t recognize a single one of them.
Was this supposed to be the ‘opportunity’ within the Secret Realm?
As everyone else came to their senses, expressions of greed flickered across their faces, though they remained wary of one another. In the world of cultivators, where the strong prey on the weak, it was hardly rare to see deception, murder, and the theft of treasures.
My scalp tingled with apprehension.
“Hmm?”
Sister Lu had fallen down here as well.
She was far more alert than I was; the moment she hit the ground, her sword was out of its sheath. When she spotted me, she looked surprised. “How did you end up down here too?”
“Get over here, quickly.”
Sister Lu immediately pulled me behind her, holding her sword horizontally across her chest to guard against everyone else.
She narrowed her eyes as she surveyed our surroundings. “Something isn’t right.”
Before the words had even left her mouth, a blood-curdling scream erupted from not far away.
Good heavens!
Were they already starting to strike first to gain the upper hand?
My skin crawled, and I broke out in goosebumps. The area was shrouded in darkness, with only the faint, rhythmic clashing of blades and the sounds of fighting echoing through the air. Many people simply vanished into the gloom.
Fortunately, Sister Lu remained as calm and resilient as ever.
“We are all fellow cultivators!” she shouted, her voice carrying a great distance. “Why must we resort to slaughtering one another here?”
But the only response she received was more screaming.
Sister Lu listened intently, realizing that the footsteps were chaotic and numerous. There were far more people here than those of us who had originally entered.
Furthermore, most of us belonged to the same sects and were as close as brothers; it made no sense for us to turn on each other like this.
A terrifying realization dawned on us.
There had been people lying in ambush here all along, just waiting for us to fall!
Sister Lu’s expression turned incredibly grim. She grabbed my hand and began to run, weaving through the shadows to stay hidden. I followed closely behind her, not daring to make a sound.
This underground area seemed to be a complex network of caverns. The terrain was treacherous, and several times we nearly collided with others, but Sister Lu always managed to pull me away just in time.
She was steady, determined, and brave.
Along the way, we indeed came across several scattered corpses. Sister Lu stepped forward to search them.
As expected, their bags were completely empty.
For this excursion into the Secret Realm, the major sects had been terrified of their disciples meeting with accidents. They had equipped them with all their best supplies-spiritual herbs, immortal elixirs, and magical artifacts.
We even stumbled upon the bodies of two disciples from the Thousand Source Sect. They had died with their eyes wide open, staring into the void. Because the Thousand Source Sect’s robes possessed innate defensive properties, their killers had even stripped them of their clothes.
Sister Lu fell silent, her grip tightening on the hilt of her sword. Fury simmered in her eyes.
Who had planned this? Who possessed the sheer audacity to orchestrate such a scheme, waiting here specifically to murder us and seize our treasures?
What Secret Realm ‘opportunity’?
To these people, *we* were the treasure troves!
