Chapter 106

Their mutual embrace grew warm.

Hua Suihe slowly opened her eyes, wanting to end the long, lingering kiss, but Ye Susheng was at her most clingy. She held Hua Suihe tight, refusing to let go, continuing their intimate entanglement.

The hundreds of fireworks had all burned out. The smell of gunpowder was swept away by the evening breeze, and the empty firework shells vanished along with it. The fire on the sticks scattered across the sand had died out, leaving behind nothing but ordinary pieces of wood.

They had been kissing for too long. Hua Suihe struggled slightly, trying to pull back the hands draped around her neck.

Ye Susheng snapped her eyes open. Her black mist coiled around Hua Suihe’s wrists, guiding her hands back to hang around her own neck.

The red markings on Ye Susheng’s body had completely vanished, and her red pupils had returned to their normal state. She was no longer in a state of Anomalization; however, because she had just been crying so heart-wrenchingly, her face was smeared with blood, making her look quite messy.

Hua Suihe tilted her head to avoid the relentless kisses. Seeing the aggrieved look in Ye Susheng’s eyes, she instinctively continued to massage the back of the girl’s neck, coaxing her softly, “Good girl, let’s stop kissing for a moment, okay?”

Ye Susheng saw her own disheveled reflection in Hua Suihe’s dark eyes. In a panic, her black mist crawled up to cover her face, acting like a towel to wipe herself clean until she was pristine once more.

Ye Susheng held Hua Suihe tightly, pressing her face close. “Not dirty… Hua Hua won’t hate me.”

“Silly Ye Zi,” Hua Suihe murmured, reaching out to pinch her cheek. “You’re not allowed to cry like that next time. You have no idea how worried I was when I saw you just now.”

“Hua Hua, don’t worry.” Ye Susheng’s eyes grew moist again as she pressed her lips together, suppressing her emotions. “Couldn’t find Hua Hua…”

“But you found me. You’ve found me now.” Hua Suihe quickly cupped her face, her fingers gently brushing the corners of her eyes. “I know Ye Zi was looking for me. I’ll take the initiative to find Ye Zi, too. I won’t leave Ye Zi’s wife all alone.”

The coils of black mist loosened slightly. Ye Susheng swept her up in a horizontal carry. “I’m taking Hua Hua home right now.”

Before Hua Suihe could even speak, the person holding her vanished instantly. Hua Suihe felt the weightlessness of a fall and tumbled toward the ground, but fortunately, the Black Cotton Candy cushioned her, preventing a painful landing.

Hua Suihe stared blankly at the moon in the sky, a slow question mark forming in her mind.

[We just found each other, bro. Don’t tell me we’re doing this again?]

[When Ye Susheng said ‘go home,’ did she mean going home by herself?]

[Don’t do this to my couple!]

Hua Suihe propped herself up to sit, only to slam straight into an embrace.

Ye Susheng was kneeling on the ground, clutching the person in her arms as if she were still in shock.

“Still here, Hua Hua is still here…”

When she had returned home alone to find her arms empty, the blood in Ye Susheng’s veins had run cold with terror.

Fortunately, Hua Suihe was still here after she rushed back. If she lost her one more time, she truly would go insane.

Hua Suihe gently patted her back. “It’s okay. Did you just go home?”

Ye Susheng looked dejected. “I couldn’t take Hua Hua with me.”

The black mist on Ye Susheng’s body fluctuated and drifted outward as she whispered to herself, “Hua Hua, don’t be afraid. There’s a way, there’s still a way.”

Hua Suihe grabbed her arm in time, pulling Ye Susheng back to her senses. She didn’t want the girl to remain in such a high-strung state, so she comforted her, “It’s okay, Ye Zi. Don’t be nervous.”

“There’s a way to go home. It’s fine if we take it slow. There’s no rush.”

Ye Susheng looked dazed. The color in her red pupils dimmed, and the black mist retreated back into her body. Only now did she finally begin to calm down.
Ye Susheng had just been about to find Thriller and demand Hua Hua’s release, but doing so was risky. She couldn’t enter the Thriller Void Space often; as an orthodox Thriller Anomaly, she was easily influenced by Thriller’s presence, which would destabilize her normal state.

She couldn’t always face Hua Hua in that hideous form. She hated that version of herself.

From her arms, Hua Hua’s voice rang out: “Wife, why is your dress so dirty?”

Hua Suihe finally had a moment to notice Ye Susheng’s overall appearance. Ye Susheng was wearing a black dress, and a thick scent of blood drifted from her. Upon closer inspection, the black fabric was mottled with bloodstains that had long since dried.

It was all the imposter’s blood, and Ye Susheng hadn’t had the chance to clean up yet.

A flash of loathing crossed Ye Susheng’s eyes. She avoided Hua Suihe’s touch, her body blurring for a split second as she refreshed her appearance, manifesting a clean set of clothes.

Ye Susheng was now wearing a white cardigan. Her white hair, which had been tossed about by the wind, was smoothed over at some point. Her current obedient appearance was like a sweet cream cake. She explained, “The stains aren’t from me crying.”

“Right, right, I know~” Hua Suihe didn’t press for details. She reached out to touch the soft cardigan, noting how thin it felt. “Aren’t you cold wearing so little?”

Ye Susheng shook her head. “I’m not cold. Are you cold, Hua Hua?”

Ye Susheng reached out to feel Hua Suihe’s jacket. She started at the sleeves and realized there were no clothes underneath them.

Ye Susheng tilted her head in confusion. Her gaze landed on Hua Suihe’s collar; even with the jacket buttoned up, the neckline was a bit low, yet she couldn’t see the collar of an inner shirt.

Ye Susheng grew tense instantly and reached out to check. “Hua Hua…”

Hua Suihe looked down to see a pair of hands landing on her waist, pinching here and there, before those hands crawled upward and landed somewhere they shouldn’t have.

Hua Suihe reflexively slapped the back of her hand and glared at her. “What are you doing?”

Ye Susheng didn’t feel any pain. Hua Hua was wearing clothes inside, but she wasn’t wearing a bra.

“Are you wearing pajamas underneath, Hua Hua?”

Feeling restless after being touched like that, Hua Suihe wrapped her jacket tighter. “They are pajamas. I was lying in bed waiting for you to come home when I suddenly appeared in the desert. I didn’t even have time to change.”

“I got this jacket from a supply pack. It’s temperature-controlled, though, so I’m not cold at all.”

Hearing about Hua Suihe’s ordeal, Ye Susheng’s eyes filled with heartache and self-reproach. “I’m sorry, Hua Hua. It’s all my fault…”

“It has nothing to do with you.” Hua Suihe rubbed her head. “Don’t overthink it. It’s actually quite a novel experience for me-my first time experiencing what it’s like to be teleported into a game dungeon.”

“It’s fine. This was a special circumstance and has nothing to do with Ye Zi.” Hua Suihe knew her status as a Special Player was unique. Regarding dungeons, she and Ye Susheng weren’t completely bound together. When Ye Susheng used to work, she could enter dungeons with her.

Now that Ye Susheng wasn’t working, she still had to enter dungeons as a Special Player.

Hua Suihe had a good attitude about it. This time was sudden, but now that she had experience, she could just be better prepared next time.

However, she had heard that there were many game dungeons running simultaneously. If her entries were going to be completely random, that would be a bit difficult to handle.

Ye Susheng lowered her eyes and remained silent. She knew it was her fault, and her hatred for Thriller intensified.

Originally, she had merely been bored with her job, tired of facing a bunch of hideous monsters every day and tired of creating them.

Now, it wasn’t just boredom anymore. She wanted to destroy it all.
