Chapter 126

Ye Susheng and Hua Suihe walked into the buffet restaurant. The place was eerily quiet, with only two servers and a cashier in sight. There were no other customers to be seen, despite the wide variety of delicacies laid out on the buffet tables.

They filled their trays and sat down at a table.

Hua Suihe absentmindedly picked out the celery with her chopsticks. “This is strange. Are we early? Have the others not arrived yet?”

“They’re all here. It’s just that no one is coming out; they’re all staying in their rooms.” Ye Susheng mimicked her, picking the celery out of her own tray. She made a point of eating exactly what Hua Suihe ate every single time; if Hua Hua didn’t eat something, she wouldn’t eat it either.

Hua Suihe had long since grown accustomed to this behavior. Even with spicy dishes that Ye Susheng couldn’t handle, she would still insist on having the same thing.

Hua Suihe spoke with a helpless tone. “You’ve been eating regular food for so long now, have you still not figured out your own tastes?”

“Whatever Hua Hua likes, I like.” In any case, she couldn’t really tell the difference between good and bad food. If Hua Hua liked it, she liked it; if Hua Hua was full, she was full.

Hua Suihe fell silent for a long moment. She began picking the spicy stir-fried squid out of Ye Susheng’s tray one by one, moving them into her own bowl. She couldn’t help but nag her again, “But you can’t handle spicy food, yet you still took this spicy squid.”

Ye Susheng didn’t take it as a scolding. Instead, she felt happy that Hua Hua was taking away the spicy food she couldn’t eat. She narrowed her eyes and gave a brilliant smile. “Thank you, Hua Hua~”

Seeing her playful grin, Hua Suihe tapped on her tray. “Don’t do this next time. Eat whatever you want to eat, follow your own preferences.”

“Don’t say your preferences are the same as mine. At the very least, if you can’t eat spicy food, then don’t eat it.”

Hua Suihe lowered her gaze to the table, avoiding her eyes as she continued, “If you can’t find anything you love, we’ll just try more new dishes. We’re bound to find something eventually.”

Ye Susheng could tell that Hua Suihe’s mood was a bit low. Suddenly feeling flustered, she hurried to apologize. “I’m sorry, Hua Hua. I’ll change from now on.”

“I didn’t mean it as a reproach.” Hua Suihe didn’t know how to explain it, so she stuffed a piece of spicy squid into her mouth, momentarily lost for words.

The squid was so spicy that she had to down a glass of ice water. After a while, she finally had an epiphany.

“In that case, I’ll start ordering more dishes I haven’t tried before and eat less spicy food. That way, you can eat exactly the same things as me, and we can enjoy even more delicious food together.”

Ye Susheng’s eyes lit up again. “I can still pick the same dishes as Hua Hua?”

“Of course. You can eat however you like.”

Ye Zi deferred to her in everything. Even when it came to food, she had switched from eating raw meat to eating cooked food just to match her. Hua Suihe had originally thought she was helping Ye Zi develop healthy eating habits, but it turned out that wasn’t it at all. Ye Zi was simply being obedient; she hadn’t developed any preferences of her own, instead adopting Hua Suihe’s preferences as her own.

Hua Suihe felt a pang of sympathy for Ye Zi-sympathy that Ye Zi’s entire world revolved around her.

But in that moment, she understood. There are many ways to love, and this was Ye Zi’s way of loving her.

In a better mood now, Ye Susheng immediately wanted to accompany Hua Hua in doing whatever she wanted. “Does Hua Hua want to see the players? Once we’re done eating, I’ll take you to knock on their doors and find them~”

“Huh? That… wouldn’t that be a bit inappropriate?”

“It’s fine, Hua Hua. I have the list of names and their corresponding room numbers. We can go find whoever you want to see.” Ye Susheng was quite serious. She even pulled out a piece of paper with names and room numbers written on it and waved it in front of Hua Suihe.

Hua Suihe froze for a second. She took the paper and scanned it briefly, though she didn’t actually register a single name. “Wait… is your true identity this time actually a Room Manager?”
Ye Susheng shook her head. “No, it’s not.”

“Alright, alright.” Hua Suihe lost interest and handed the paper back. “Fine, I’m not that eager to find them anyway. Aren’t we all supposed to gather at the same time tomorrow morning? I’ll have a chance to see them then. Let’s eat first.”

After finishing their meal, the two left the restaurant and wandered around, visiting the floors with clear signage to solidify their mental map of the layout.

Every floor was luxurious and lacked for nothing-except people.

They spent over an hour exploring before returning to their room.

Hua Suihe walked to the window and pulled back the curtain to look out. The Cruise Ship’s exterior lights had suddenly flickered on, so instead of a pitch-black void, she could now see the churning seawater.

Hua Suihe let the curtain fall, missing the giant tentacle that suddenly breached the water. Its suckers, larger than water vats, pressed against the glass.

As she stepped away from the window, she muttered, “It’s so bright out there. Good thing these curtains block the light well.”

Ye Susheng knew exactly what was outside, but she didn’t care at all. Clutching her pajamas and Hua Suihe’s in her arms, she asked excitedly, “Hua Hua, do you want to take a bath?”

Hua Suihe went along with her. “A bath? Want to join me?”

“Yes, yes!” Ye Susheng carried the pajamas inside, started the water in the tub, and led Hua Suihe in.

The water in the constant-temperature bathtub was changed twice. They played around for two hours, and by the time they came out, Hua Suihe was already asleep. Ye Susheng carried her out in her arms.

After tucking her into bed, Ye Susheng stared at Hua Suihe’s sleeping face for a while, then reluctantly kissed her cheeks over and over again.

*Sigh, time for work again. How annoying.*

She had whispered this into Hua Hua’s ear several times while she was still awake, but she wasn’t sure if it had sunk in. Still worried, she found a scrap of paper and a pen to write a note saying she had gone to work and that Hua Hua shouldn’t worry. She placed it on top of Hua Hua’s phone, where it would be most easily seen.

Only after finishing this did she manifest her work uniform-a shimmering golden gown styled after ancient European nobility. Her hair was swept up with exquisite ornaments; she looked like a figure stepped out of an oil painting.

Without lingering any longer, she left the room.

Hua Suihe was fast asleep, but as soon as midnight struck, the Live Streaming System in her mind automatically began broadcasting. People flooded into the stream, and everyone was immediately greeted by the sight of Hua Suihe’s sleeping face.

[Welcome home!]

[Is the dungeon just starting now?]

[Why is Hua Hua sleeping? This is the first time I’ve seen someone asleep at the start of a dungeon.]

[Where’s Ye Susheng? Where is this? What’s this dungeon about?]

[Hua Hua is sleeping so soundly. It’s making me sleepy just watching. Goodnight, world.]

[Welcome home, Gu Gu. Ah Ye, your top-up speed is so fast today, Hua Hua didn’t even see it.]

[88888 tipped Eye of Fate x1, 98888 tipped Truth Serum x1, 1000000 tipped Life-Saving Talisman x1]

[Gu Gu: No, these new gifts are actually pretty expensive. The names sound a bit ominous. You might not need them, but you can’t be without them.]

The System was filled with the sounds of gifts being redeemed, yet it failed to wake Hua Suihe.

After a heavy night’s sleep, Hua Suihe opened her eyes groggily. She reached for her phone to check the time and felt a piece of paper. It took a great deal of effort to blink her eyes open and read the contents.

Seeing that Ye Susheng had gone to work, she reached out to the spot beside her. It was cold.

She had been gone for a long time and hadn’t come back yet.
