Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 27
Hua Suihe gave Su Sheng a peck on the lips and pinched her soft, smooth cheek. “My wife is the best in the world!”
Su Sheng’s cheeks burned, her snow-white face uncontrollably flushing red. She raised her hand to brush her loose hair, trying to use it to cover her shy, blushing face.
Today she wore a charming red dress, with just a plastic red rose hair clip in her hair.
Hua Suihe helped her tuck her hair behind her ear. “Then I’ll have to trouble Su Sheng to start making lunch.”
Su Sheng lowered her head shyly. “Okay.”
“Then you cook at home, I’ll go to the supermarket to buy a few things.”
Su Sheng looked up in confusion. “Hua Hua, what are you going to buy?”
“Just browsing. I remember how to get to the supermarket, I’ll be back soon.”
Su Sheng really wanted to say she’d go with her, but seeing Hua Suihe’s attitude, she knew she wasn’t supposed to tag along.
So Su Sheng could only obediently clutch her skirt and pull out a sensible smile. “Okay, I’ll wait for Hua Hua to come back.”
Hua Suihe patted her head, took the cash, and happily went out the door.
A wisp of black smoke, like a creeping thing, clung invisibly to Hua Suihe’s back and followed her out.
Hua Suihe walked toward the supermarket, relying on her memory.
Now that classes were over, there were more students on the road, so she could always sense glances, intentional or not, cast her way.
Hua Suihe pinched her collar, the smile on her face deepening. Her outfit really did look great today-her natural beauty was truly eye-catching.
She strolled leisurely into the supermarket.
“Wow, she’s covered in Su Sheng’s scent marks.”
“She really loves that tiny human so much.”
“She’s so clingy, even trailing a tail to follow her human.”
“She smells so good. If I politely ask if I can take a bite of her, that shouldn’t count as bullying, right?”
“You try it.”
“You go.”
The three girls shoved each other, but in the end, none of them had the guts to go too far. When Hua Suihe turned to look at them, they guiltily ran away like thieves.
Hua Suihe tilted her head, biting her lip. Did she just hear Su Sheng’s name?
But there was no one behind her.
Never mind, time to shop.
Hua Suihe walked to the snacks section, bought a bag of mixed-flavored candies, a few chocolate bars, several packs of jerky and cookies-she picked up a little of all her favorite snacks, except for spicy strips. She’d already learned yesterday that Su Sheng couldn’t eat spicy food.
Yes, she was going to give Su Sheng a snack-style love bento.
Su Sheng didn’t like eating, so when she cooked, she never made a portion for herself.
Hua Suihe guessed that maybe Su Sheng’s character setting didn’t include eating, so she’d never tasted food.
Hua Suihe wanted to enlighten Su Sheng’s taste buds, to see what flavors she liked, what she enjoyed eating.
Hua Suihe carried her shopping basket to the cashier. When she saw the cashier putting the snacks into a plastic bag, she ran back to buy a gift bag.
“You really love snacks, huh?” The cashier helped her pack all the snacks into the gift bag, took the cash, and handed back the change with a trembling hand.
Hua Suihe took the money and replied, “Yes.”
The cashier’s eye twitched, her lips pulling into a stiff arc. Her smile was so forced that the muscles in her whole face twitched, but she still said kindly, “That’s nice, come again.”
Hua Suihe nodded, holding the gift bag, hesitating to leave.
The muscles on the cashier’s face twitched even more violently. The look she gave Hua Suihe clearly urged her to go.
“Excuse me…” Hua Suihe kindly reminded her, “You shouldn’t delay treatment for facial paralysis. You really need to go to the hospital as soon as possible. Your symptoms are already very serious.”
The muscles on the cashier’s face froze, the twitching stopped, and she looked as if she was angry.
Hua Suihe bowed her head and apologized, “Sorry, I was being too talkative. I won’t bother you anymore.”
“Thank you!” Seeing that she was about to leave, the cashier auntie called out her thanks loudly and anxiously.
Hua Suihe let out a sigh of relief, turned back with a smile, and waved goodbye to her.
Finally, she left.
The auntie tugged at her own cheeks to force a smile, but it didn’t stay; after hanging on for a moment, her face started to twitch uncontrollably.
Hua Suihe carried the gift bag back to the dormitory. Ye Susheng had already finished cooking three dishes.
“Hua Hua, you’re back! Once the rice is done, we can have lunch.”
Ye Susheng saw the delicate pink gift bag in Hua Suihe’s hand and asked casually, “Hua Hua, what did you buy?”
“I got you a love bento! I didn’t make it myself, but I did buy it just for you.”
At those words, Ye Susheng immediately turned off the induction stove, took the bag from her hands, her eyes shining. “You bought it for me?”
“Yep, it’s for you.” Hua Suihe washed her hands at the sink, then came back and sat down on the stool. “Open it and see~”
Ye Susheng held the bag fondly, sat next to Hua Suihe, and took out the items inside one by one.
Hua Suihe opened a pack of beef jerky, picked up a strip, and held it in front of her mouth. “Want to try?”
Without hesitation, Ye Susheng opened her mouth, clearly intent on eating the whole strip in one go-her mouth opened and closed, even catching the two fingers Hua Suihe was holding the end with.
They looked at each other.
Hua Suihe let out a sharp, startled sound and quickly pulled the whole beef jerky strip out of her mouth, along with two drops of saliva.
Ye Susheng stared blankly, mouth open, gaze fixed on Hua Suihe’s now glossy fingers.
“You can’t eat beef jerky like that, baby,” Hua Suihe patiently explained. “A piece that long might get stuck in your throat.”
“You’re supposed to tear it with your teeth, chew bit by bit, savor the taste, and that’s when it’s good.” Hua Suihe broke off a small piece by hand and put it into her mouth. “That’s how you eat it.”
Her fingers pressed against her lips again.
Ye Susheng licked her lips, not even knowing what it tasted like-she only knew that Hua Hua’s hand smelled wonderful. She really wanted to eat Hua Hua’s hand. Oh no, her craving for Hua Hua was getting worse.
Flustered, Ye Susheng swallowed the entire piece of beef jerky. “I-I’ll go get some rice for Hua Hua.”
Seeing her panicked movements, Hua Suihe thought she just didn’t like beef jerky.
It’s fine, there’s a whole bag of snacks-there’s got to be something she’ll like.
She tossed the remaining half into the trash and wiped the saliva from her hand with a tissue.
By the time she finished, Ye Susheng had already brought her a bowl of rice.
She served herself a bowl too.
When Hua Suihe had asked her to make an extra portion for herself, she had listened.
But when Ye Susheng ate, it was as if she were just completing a task-she only ate plain rice, not even remembering to take any dishes.
Hua Suihe would occasionally add some food to her bowl, and she would eat it.
Hua Suihe ate with great satisfaction, praising Ye Susheng’s cooking skills.
Ye Susheng put down her chopsticks with obvious reluctance. “Hua Hua, I have to go do dorm inspections.”
This work schedule was so annoying.
“Go on, I’ll handle the cleanup.”
“I’ll come back to you as soon as I’m off work.”
Hua Suihe stuffed a milk chocolate bar into her hand. “Take this with you as a snack.”
“Okay.”
Back at Dormitory 33, Ye Susheng curiously examined the chocolate bar in her hand, tore open the wrapper, and the sweetness filled the air, teasing her taste buds.
She took a bite. The sweet chocolate wasn’t bad at all.
If only it had the taste of Hua Hua, it would be even better.
