Chapter 60

Ye Susheng wasn’t paying attention to her phone. Distracted, she pressed it down. “Hua Hua, your period’s over.”

“Huh? Yeah. Why?” Hua Suihe was still basking in the joy of how easy it was to get the account going, and for a moment she didn’t catch what Ye Susheng was really implying.

Ye Susheng deliberately spelled it out. “Then… does that mean we can go to sleep-sleep now?”

“It’s still early.” Hua Suihe instantly understood the subtext. She rolled over to face away from her and focused on the comment section.

[Is my eyesight broken, or is the one working in the vegetable garden with her pant legs rolled up Ye Susheng?]

[Not sure. I think my brain is malfunctioning. I’m gonna boost the traffic and buy a different brain to look again.]

[Holy-holy-holy! Ye Susheng farming?! Does she eat vegetarian too???]

[This blogger called Peanut-is she the top-ranked new player who didn’t have a livestream POV in the dungeon?]

[They’re a couple, right? From other players’ POVs in the dungeon, they’re always glued together.]

[Is this considered pulling strings? I’m dead. That girl’s luck is insane!]

Hua Suihe, embarrassed, replied to that comment with a laughing, face-covering emoji.

It really was her wife pulling strings for her.

But Ye Susheng’s fame was on another level. She’d probably shown up too often in other players’ streams, and Hua Suihe was the one benefiting from it.

Ignored yet again, Ye Susheng tried to snatch the phone. But Hua Suihe saw it coming-she reached forward and dodged her.

“Hua Hua~ Hua Hua, pay attention to meee~” Ye Susheng couldn’t get the phone, so she simply wrapped her arms around Hua Suihe from behind, clinging to her and messing with her on purpose.

“Hua Hua~ I’ll make Hua Hua feel good, I promise. I won’t be like last time again…”

Hua Suihe tossed the phone onto the bedside table and turned to look at her, sounding a little eager. “Then are you still willing to lie there?”

Ye Susheng pressed her lips together and stared at her with wide, innocent eyes. But the wife who usually did whatever Hua Hua said unexpectedly fell silent.

The two of them sat in awkward silence.

Hua Suihe lowered her head in defeat. “Was it really that bad?”

It was her first time actually doing it-could she really have managed to make her wife not want a second round? Was she that much of a disaster?

Ye Susheng cupped her face. She couldn’t bear to see that expression on Hua Suihe, so she lightly convinced herself to cooperate one more time. “Hua Hua can do whatever she wants.”

“Tell me the truth.” Hua Suihe looked serious. “Was it really uncomfortable?”

Ye Susheng was honest too. “It wasn’t uncomfortable. It just… didn’t feel like anything…”

“What?!” Hua Suihe completely broke. “What are you even saying?!”

“It got all over my hand!”

Seeing Hua Suihe so angry her face was turning red, Ye Susheng didn’t dare argue at all and apologized immediately. “I’m sorry, Hua Hua…”

Hua Suihe lost all strength and all tactics. She flopped flat onto the bed and pulled the blanket over her face.

How could this happen?!

Ye Susheng lay beside her, not daring to move. In a small voice, she tried to sell herself. “Hua Hua, I’ve been seriously reading these past couple days. I studied properly.”

“Hua Hua, don’t be scared. I can definitely do it right.”

“Hua Hua…”

“Hua Hua Hua Hua~”

Hua Suihe was the least able to withstand her soft coaxing. She stayed buried under the blanket for a long while. “Fine…”

Ye Susheng’s eyes lit up instantly. She sat up at once. “Hua Hua!”

With permission granted, Ye Susheng didn’t dare rush. She tossed the obstructing fabric aside.

…(To avoid a repeat of yesterday, a large portion is omitted here.)
Hua Suihe was so sleepy she could barely keep her eyes open, but Ye Susheng was bursting with energy.

Hua Suihe drowsily pushed at her. “That’s enough… enough…”

“Hua Hua smells so good, so good~” No matter how much she tasted, it was never enough.

The black mist followed its main body-this was the first time it had gotten to openly eat its wife, and it had no intention of leaving. It wound around Hua Hua in thin, clinging strands, holding every movement of Hua Suihe in its grasp.

It liked her so much it couldn’t bear to part, and when it finally left, it carried away the lingering dew.

Hua Suihe slept and woke, woke and slept, until daylight came.

“Enough!” Hua Suihe’s voice sounded like it had been sanded down with grit, but she truly couldn’t take it anymore. She wanted to kick Ye Susheng away, but she didn’t have the strength.

Hearing that Hua Suihe was genuinely angry, Ye Susheng didn’t dare push her luck anymore.

“Hua Hua, I’ll bring you some water. Rest first, okay? I’ll make you breakfast.”

Humans were fragile-only careful pampering would allow them to keep going.

It was just that Ye Susheng still underestimated herself. What she thought was just a little taste ended up with Hua Hua refusing to pay her any attention for an entire day. Other than meals, Hua Suihe stayed curled up in bed, and no matter what Ye Susheng said, she wouldn’t respond.

Like a concubine who’d been granted favor only to be tossed into the cold palace afterward, Ye Susheng felt like the sky was falling.

Even after two days of rest, Hua Suihe still hadn’t fully recovered. Her skin was covered in suggestive red marks, and whenever Hua Suihe saw Ye Susheng, she’d pull a long face and give her the cold shoulder. At night, she even insisted on putting a line down the middle of the bed as a boundary.

Ye Susheng was terrified when she saw the red and purple bruising on Hua Suihe. She went to a human pharmacy to buy medicine, but Hua Hua still wouldn’t let her help apply it.

Hua Suihe used foundation to cover the marks that showed. Once she regained normal mobility, she went back to working on her account.

Hua Suihe only wanted to film some green scenery, but wherever she went, Ye Susheng followed.

Only this time, Ye Susheng didn’t end up in the shot.

“Hua Hua, you haven’t paid attention to me for two days. I really was wrong. Please talk to me~”

Hua Suihe opened the video. In a twenty-second clip, Ye Susheng’s voice took up ten seconds.

Hua Suihe sighed and filmed another one.

“Hua Hua~ I know I was wrong. Hua Hua, scold me, okay? Whatever you say, I love hearing it, Hua Hua.”

Hua Suihe clicked her tongue with a frosty face. “Shut up. You’re messing up my recording.”

After being scolded, Ye Susheng fell silent. Tears immediately poured out again-big, pearl-like drops falling from her eyes as she cried quietly.

She was standing right beside Hua Suihe; the moment she started crying, Hua Suihe noticed. So she turned on the camera and secretly filmed a three-second clip.

After filming it, her mood improved a lot. She put her phone away, then suddenly turned to look at her.

When she met those eyes brimming with tears, Hua Suihe softened at once. “Stop crying.”

Ye Susheng wiped her own tears, head lowered, not saying a word. She finally managed to stop, but the grievance was practically spilling out of her.

The black mist slipped out and nuzzled against the back of Hua Suihe’s hand, humbly trying to please her.

But Hua Suihe remembered it perfectly well-the one that went the most overboard was it.

Hua Suihe secretly pinched the black mist and kneaded it hard.

Ye Susheng’s cheeks flared hot in an instant, and she glanced nervously at Hua Suihe’s fingertips.

“Hua Hua… does Hua Hua forgive me?”

Hua Suihe hmph’d twice and turned toward the little wooden cabin. “Go back and make lunch. I’m hungry.”

Wildflowers by the roadside swayed in the sunlight, like they were cheering happily.

Ye Susheng kept close to Hua Suihe’s pace, her good mood restored.

“I knew Hua Hua is the best! Hua Hua, I prepared your favorite today-hairy crab!”

“Hua Hua, Hua Hua~”
