Marry the NPC with Money, Wife Comes Knocking - Chapter 69
Chapter 69
When Hua Suihe woke up, her entire body felt weak and sore. Her skin was covered in red marks, which had been treated with a milky-white ointment.
Feeling uneasy, Hua Suihe checked the comments in the livestream. The screen had been black while Ye Susheng was applying the ointment, but seeing the marks on her neck, the netizens were acting like detectives who had uncovered the truth. They flooded the screen with comments, insisting that the “half hour” last night was definitely spent doing *it*, and quite intensely at that.
Hua Suihe thought back to that “half hour” from the previous night. She didn’t believe for a second that a mere thirty minutes could leave her in this state; the sensation had been almost no different from her first time.
Hua Suihe sat up in bed and forced herself to get up. Her legs were so shaky she could barely stand, but she didn’t want the livestream to start spamming “take off your clothes” because of her strange movements.
Gritting her teeth, she walked out of the house. It was past ten in the morning, and the piercing sunlight flooded the courtyard. She narrowed her eyes, searching for Ye Susheng.
Ye Susheng didn’t plan on going to work today, so she wasn’t wearing her Officiant uniform. Instead, she wore a dark green satin slip dress that hugged her figure. She was currently sitting inside the Ice Coffin with her hands resting outside and her head leaning against the edge, her red eyes staring fixedly toward the house.
Seeing Hua Suihe emerge from the room, her eyes instantly regained their luster. She waved at Hua Suihe. “Hua Hua, good morning!”
Before Hua Suihe had woken up, Ye Susheng had applied the ointment for her, cooked breakfast, and then returned to the room to lie with her for a long time. She had only come out to sit in the coffin once she sensed Hua Suihe was about to wake.
She was waiting for Hua Hua to come call for her so she could get out.
Hua Suihe’s gaze did indeed fall upon her, but she didn’t move. Noticing her hesitation, Ye Susheng waved even more vigorously.
“Hua Hua, Hua Hua, it’s me! I’m over here~”
Hua Suihe walked toward her, carrying a hint of resentment. Sometimes she really wanted to slap herself; she had fallen for her wife’s beauty yet again. Ye Susheng looked so beautiful in that dress, but her hair wasn’t styled. Hua Suihe’s hands itched to make her look even more exquisite.
Finally, Hua Suihe came to a stop in front of the Ice Coffin, which was filled with frozen white roses. Ye Susheng sat inside, looking up and reaching out both hands, expecting Hua Suihe to pull her out.
Seeing those hands made Hua Suihe think of the passion from the night before, and lewd images uncontrollably flooded her mind.
Hua Suihe suddenly addressed her by her full name: “Ye Susheng.”
Ye Susheng’s raised hands slowly dropped until she was gripping the edge of the Ice Coffin. Her tone held a hint of supplication. “Hua Hua, I helped you apply the medicine…”
Hua Suihe looked down at her, her dark eyes showing no trace of emotion. Finally, she reached out, grabbed Ye Susheng’s wrists, and pulled her up from the Ice Coffin. “Come out.”
Hua Suihe couldn’t understand why that half hour last night felt as long as half a day. She figured Ye Susheng couldn’t have actually done that, so it must have been a bug in this broken world.
Even if it was a bug, Hua Suihe couldn’t easily forgive the high-libido Ye Susheng. If she hadn’t been so lacking in self-restraint, how could a mere half hour have glitched into lasting so long?
The worst part was-Ye Susheng was the type who cried while doing it.
Whenever Hua Suihe couldn’t take it anymore and tried to push her away or talk her out of it, Ye Susheng would shed pearly tears. Sobbing, she would say things like, “Hua Hua, just hold on a little longer, it’ll be over soon~” or “Hua Hua, love me a little more, don’t push me away.”
Hua Suihe was powerless against Ye Susheng’s tears. It was as if the other woman knew this was her advantage; her “little crybaby” persona remained unshakable even in bed.
Once Ye Susheng stepped out of the Ice Coffin, Hua Suihe finally got a full look at her slip dress.
Slender straps rested on her shoulders, and the fabric clung to her form, accentuating Ye Susheng’s graceful, alluring curves. The hem featured a fluid, wavy design that swayed elegantly with every step she took toward Hua Suihe.
Ye Susheng stepped barefoot onto the concrete floor, seemingly oblivious to the chill. She leaned into Hua Suihe, wrapping her arms around her and swaying. “Hua Hua is the best~”
There were still traces of ointment on Hua Suihe’s arms, and Ye Susheng was careful to avoid those spots.
She felt that Hua Hua’s body was somewhat fragile; after any prolonged physical activity, it always took her quite a while to recover.
To help speed up Hua Suihe’s recovery, Ye Susheng had conscientiously made it her mission to look after her in the aftermath.
“Hua Hua, I’ve already made the porridge for breakfast. It’s shrimp and minced pork today. I just turned off the stove, so it’s still nice and hot.”
After Hua Suihe finished freshening up and headed into the kitchen, she found that Ye Susheng had already set out a bowl of porridge to cool. Had Hua Suihe not insisted on eating herself, Ye Susheng would have happily fed her spoon by spoon.
Once they finished breakfast, Hua Suihe braided Ye Susheng’s hair and secured it with a jade bamboo hairpin.
Hua Suihe draped the braid over Ye Susheng’s shoulder, playfully tugging at one of her straps. “Aren’t you going to work today?”
“Not today. Things aren’t that busy.”
No sooner had the words left Ye Susheng’s mouth than the blare of a suona drifted in from somewhere in the village.
Hua Suihe rubbed her ear with a sigh. “The people in this village are obsessed with the suona. Hardly any of them can actually carry a tune, but they just love to play.”
They likely realized how much of a nuisance it was, as they only played during the day and kept quiet once it was time to sleep.
Seeing Hua Suihe’s annoyance, Ye Susheng suggested, “I’ll go have a word with the village committee and tell them to do something about it.”
“That’s not necessary.” Hua Suihe just didn’t like the sound, but she felt people should be free to play their instruments.
Besides, the village was remarkably quiet otherwise. Aside from the occasional suona blast, there were no roosters crowing or dogs barking, and the villagers didn’t seem the type to hang around outside and gossip.
Then again, perhaps she just hadn’t seen many people because she rarely left the house.
Hua Suihe was actually quite curious about their new surroundings. “Since you’re off today, why don’t we take a walk around the village?”
The atmosphere of the previous dungeon had rattled her, making her overly cautious in this one. But since nothing had happened yet, she felt it was time to explore and get to know the locals. That way, she might feel brave enough to venture out on her own when Ye Susheng was at work.
“I’m sorry, Hua Hua. I’m always working and can’t stay home to keep you company. I’ve left you all alone and bored.”
Hua Suihe cupped her face and gave it an affectionate pinch. “What’s there to be sorry about? You have your work, and right now, I’m relying on your salary to support me.”
Ye Susheng also wanted to spend more time with Hua Suihe. She even considered whether she could just finish off all the players in a single day to meet her monthly quota, but this dungeon was set for a month. She had to stay here for a month, and so did Hua Suihe.
By then, the village would be crawling with Anomalies and Anomalized players. If Hua Hua were to see the horrific forms of players she recognized after their Anomalization, it would surely scare her to death.
These long-term survival scripts were truly the most annoying.
