Mermaid Care Diary - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I locked the person outside and fed my group of animals before finally turning my attention to the freezer.
Perhaps because the Mermaid was on the verge of death, they hadn’t bothered to bind its hands.
The Mermaid truly had a beautiful face, with a high bridge to its nose, long silver hair cascading down, and long eyelashes trembling slightly.
Among all the animals I had ever raised, it was the most stunning.
However, its face was deathly pale at the moment, its scales lacked luster, and its brow was furrowed as if trapped in a nightmare.
There was dried blood on the Mermaid’s claws.
My OCD flared up at the sight, so I pulled out a pair of nail clippers and began trimming them.
Before I started, I didn’t forget to give it a shot of sedative to ensure it slept soundly.
The temperature of the freezer was far too low for a Mermaid.
I performed a quick examination.
Male, and quite robust.
However, he had suffered significant blood loss, and his body was filled with a cocktail of conflicting drugs. His hands and body were covered in scalpel scars and needle marks.
Such things didn’t exist at the bottom of the ocean; these were marks left by humans.
“Absolute animals,” I muttered.
I hadn’t expected the Myna, with its penchant for eavesdropping, to overhear me.
It shrieked from outside, “Animals! Absolute animals!”
Then, a chorus of animal cries erupted throughout my research institute, one after another.
Unable to take it anymore, I put on noise-canceling earplugs.
While I was at it, I moved the sleeping Mermaid into my large aquarium.
The temperature inside was perfect, and it was home to a Sea Turtle, coral, and various kinds of fish. Now, it had a Mermaid as well.
From my current angle, I could see the whole view perfectly.
“Get some good sleep.”
I had already decided what the focus of this Mermaid study would be.
