My Brother Is Fighting Over Me Again - Chapter 3
I rubbed my bleary eyes and walked out of the room.
Glasses Guy saw me and hurried over to check if I was safe.
When he saw I was fine, he let out a breath of relief. “You’re seriously lucky. You know, the room you stayed in last night was the most dangerous one.”
I thought back for a moment, then chuckled. “It didn’t feel all that special to me. The only thing special about it was how soft the bed was.”
But there wasn’t the slightest hint of ease on Glasses Guy’s face. “The woman who used the Swap Card on you last night is dead.”
I froze.
Only then did it truly sink in-this was a game where people could die.
Glasses Guy patted me on the shoulder. “You really were lucky last night, but you still have to stay in that room for another two days. Don’t let your guard down.”
I nodded stiffly.
I still wanted to tell him about the long johns, but he was already busy looking for the other survivors and had no time for me.
At that moment, the bullet comments had gone completely insane.
[Did you guys see what happened last night?]
[I saw it…]
[At two in the morning, Lady Red Butterfly put red long johns on her.]
[At three in the morning, the Executioner stood beside the bed with an ax. Every time the little girl kicked off the blanket, he tucked it back in.]
[At four in the morning, the Big Boss came in and stared at the little girl for an hour. He didn’t do anything. At the very last moment, he just lowered his head and kissed her forehead.]
[I didn’t see that wrong, did I? They actually didn’t kill her?]
[This player isn’t simple. Maybe she’s some big shot from another district pretending to be weak. Waku waku.]
[Or maybe she’s just lucky. Let’s keep watching.]
The second night arrived right on schedule.
This time, the difficulty had clearly gone up.
I opened the Medical Record Book and saw that there was obviously one more line than last night.
“Today, my mommy, daddy, and big brother are coming to see me. Nana is so excited.”
The moment I saw those words, every nerve in my body tightened.
This meant that tonight, I would very likely have to face those monsters while wide awake.
I immediately recalled the words I had seen in the Medical Record Book yesterday.
Nana would give each of her family members a kiss.
And at night, she had to sleep while hugging her big brother.
My scalp went numb.
Was I supposed to sleep with a monster for an entire night?
Just then, I heard the sound of high heels and leather shoes striking the floor, echoing down the empty corridor.
It was cold and eerie, like a low murmur drifting over from another world.
My heart instantly started pounding like mad.
The next second, the door opened.
A bone-chilling draft slipped in from outside.
The people who walked into the room made my eyes widen.
Dad. Mom. Big Brother!
I nearly burst into tears.
A child without a family is like a blade of grass.
A child with a family is a precious treasure.
