Chapter 1

The villain, Fang Xubai, had been abused since childhood. After countless hardships, he finally managed to grow up completely twisted.

Now fully blackened, he made his grand entrance, knife sharpened and ready, and began his path of revenge.

His tone was casual. He grabbed the back of my collar and lifted me up.

The instant my feet left the ground, I choked.

Fang Xubai had just wiped out the black-hearted director and the perverted teachers who’d abused him as a child. He was still radiating hostility from head to toe.

“Do I look like I’m in a great mood?!”

As I snapped back at the System, I glared furiously at Fang Xubai.

We stared at each other in silence for two seconds.

Fang Xubai frowned in disgust and asked, “Why are you acting cute?”

Chapter 2

It was as if a dark cloud had dropped over my head. My face practically filled with black lines.

Fang Xubai didn’t notice at all. With a flick of his wrist, he moved as if he were about to throw out the trash.

Sensing what he was about to do, I was startled. Quick as lightning, I wrapped my arms around his.

“Daddy!”

Agile as a monkey, I flung myself into his arms.

My nose slammed into his hard chest, making it sting, and tears immediately came pouring down. Right on cue, I added a sob to my voice.

“Daddy, I waited so long for you. Waaah…”

Fang Xubai’s upper body swayed slightly from the impact, and the hand that was about to throw me froze.

He lowered his head. After a long while, he asked stiffly, “What did you call me?”

“Daddy.”

I looked up, sniffling, and used the most pitiful voice I could muster.

“Auntie told me to wait here for you. I waited from when I was two until I turned five. Daddy, why did you only come now?

“The director and the others all said you didn’t want me anymore. I didn’t believe them, and they even locked me in a little box. I knew Daddy would come…”

Fang Xubai’s gaze suddenly turned dark and deep. “A little box?”

“The kind with no light and no windows. Only one hole. A little box for doggies to live in.

“The director always locked me inside and wouldn’t give me food. The other kids all called me Dog Brat…”

In that instant, an even more intense killing intent surged from Fang Xubai.

He reined it in quickly and asked calmly, “What else did they do to you?”

“Auntie hit me. The teachers poked me with needles. None of the other kids would play with me…”
