My Ex-Boyfriend Is Obsessed - Chapter 3
Chapter 5
“Holy crap, Liang Jinchuan is so handsome in person!”
Xiao Dong covered her mouth and discreetly tugged at the hem of my suit jacket.
I looked at the man in front of me and gave a careless nod.
He was pretty handsome.
His pale-blue shirt fit him perfectly, the cuffs rolled halfway up. His legs were long, his proportions excellent; he looked like he was shooting a poster just standing there.
I just hadn’t expected that, after breaking up years ago, we would meet again under circumstances like these.
Yesterday, Liang Jinchuan’s team had contacted me, saying they wanted to come to Wanjia Company to shoot a few scenes for the MV of Spring Sound, as a way to address those two Weibo posts from three in the morning.
My boss promised to triple my year-end bonus, and only then did I agree.
“Manager Xu, sorry for the trouble.”
Liang Jinchuan took off his sunglasses and shook my hand. His tone was polite and distant, as if he didn’t know me at all.
Fair enough. Back then, I had dumped him just as his career was taking off. I ignored his reddened eyes and trembling pleas for me to stay, moved out of our apartment overnight, and vanished without a trace.
With how proud he was, it was only natural for him to hold a grudge.
We’d keep this strictly professional.
I was just about to pull my hand back when I realized Liang Jinchuan’s grip was too strong. For a moment, I couldn’t get free.
“Jinchuan?”
Seeing the strange looks on everyone’s faces, his manager had no choice but to remind him.
“Oh, sorry.” Liang Jinchuan released my hand, blinked, and gave me an innocent smile. “Manager Xu looks too much like an old acquaintance of mine. I spaced out for a second. Sorry about that.”
“It’s fine.” The corner of my mouth twitched. My instincts told me the work ahead wasn’t going to be that simple.
Sure enough, in Liang Jinchuan’s world, the words swallow your pride simply did not exist.
Before filming started, he claimed his assistant had hurt her hand and insisted I go into the dressing room to help him.
I looked at the assistant whose “hand was injured.” She was holding a makeup case that looked to weigh at least ten kilos in each hand. When she heard what Liang Jinchuan said, she immediately dropped the cases onto the floor with a clang. “Ah, right, right, right. My hand was injured.”
“…” Could you people be any less convincing?
After closing the door, Liang Jinchuan casually lifted the hem of his shirt, revealing sharply defined abs.
When he noticed my gaze flicking over before I could stop it, he leaned back lazily and looked at me, the corners of his eyes lifting slightly.
“Undo the buttons on my shirt for me.”
I raised an eyebrow. “You really want me to do it?”
Liang Jinchuan’s throat bobbed. His light amber eyes locked onto my lips, dark and fathomless, churning with barely restrained thirst.
“Hm? Want to keep going?” I met his gaze, my fingertip hooking around a button and rubbing it lightly.
He stumbled back a step. “Get… get out…”
I stood up with a smile, patted Liang Jinchuan lightly on the cheek a few times, and murmured, “With that little self-control, you still dared ask me to kneel in front of you and undo your buttons?”
…
I waited outside for a long time before Liang Jinchuan finally opened the door and came out.
In front of the crowd, whose expressions all varied, he looked perfectly normal. “Let’s start.”
For the rest of the shoot, Liang Jinchuan was extremely cooperative.
“Hey, very nice! Mr. Liang, your expressiveness is excellent today!”
The photographer couldn’t stop praising him.
“Yes, yes, that’s the pose. It’s got that melancholy but beautiful feeling!”
“Should I change into another outfit?” Liang Jinchuan suddenly asked.
When his gaze met mine, he added, “I’ll change by myself.”
“Huh?”
The photographer froze for a moment, then shook his head. “No need. We’re only keeping one or two shots anyway.”
“Let’s do another outfit. Since I’m already here.”
Liang Jinchuan undid two buttons, his fair collarbone flickering in and out of view.
“He’s being this cooperative today?”
Beside me, his manager muttered under his breath.
Seeing that the shoot was going smoothly, I patted Xiao Dong. “Keep an eye on things for a bit. I’m going to have a smoke.”
I had just reached the doorway when the company’s intern, Lin Qian, called out to me.
Holding a laptop, his cheeks were flushed. “Brother Xu, there’s a section I don’t really understand. Could you teach me?”
Thinking of how earnest and hardworking he usually was, I nodded and led him over to sit on the long sofa indoors. “What part don’t you understand?”
…
“Mr. Liang, look over here, this way!
“Mr. Liang?”
The photographer’s voice was so loud that I instinctively looked up-
And crashed headfirst into someone’s gaze.
It had happened too suddenly. Liang Jinchuan didn’t even have time to hide his emotions.
The scrutiny in his eyes was obvious.
“Brother Xu?” Lin Qian called me.
“You usually take such good care of me, and I’ve learned a lot from you.” The young man’s gaze flickered, the tips of his ears turning red. “It’s my birthday this Saturday. Can I invite you to my place?”
That familiar expression…
Alarm bells went off in my head. I was just about to refuse when Liang Jinchuan’s voice suddenly cut in. “Sorry… I’m coming over to rest for a bit.”
Those light amber eyes moved back and forth between me and the young man, smiling.
“I’m not interrupting you two, am I?”
“No, no…”
With the topic cut off, Lin Qian’s face instantly turned scarlet. He left behind a quick “I’ll wait for you,” then hurried off with his laptop in his arms.
Once he was gone, Liang Jinchuan immediately dropped that civilized act and let out a cold laugh.
“Well, look at that. Sitting so close together, I was almost starting to ship you two.
“Looks like after all these years since our breakup, Manager Xu is still just as popular with the younger guys.”
