My Ex-Boyfriend is the Dean of the Horror Academy - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
I thought that with such a massive impact, I should be dead by now.
Yet, when I opened my eyes, I was actually standing on a… playground?
The weather seemed poor, however. Beyond a five-meter radius, everything was shrouded in a thick, white mist.
I wasn’t alone. Many strangers I didn’t recognize were standing around me.
A Yellow-hair frowned, his face twisted in annoyance.
“Dammit, where is this? I was clearly at the bar. Who kidnapped me?”
His words seemed to resonate with the others, and for a moment, the crowd erupted into a flurry of hushed discussions.
A Red-haired man looked on with a face full of mockery.
“Enough. Now that you’re here, I suggest you shut your mouths and wait for the prompts to appear. Otherwise, you’ll all be in for a world of hurt.”
Hearing this, the Yellow-hair flew into a rage.
“I haven’t been afraid of anyone in all my years! You think you can threaten me?”
“You bunch of jackasses can stay here if you want. I’m going home.”
With those words, he took a wide stride and marched toward the perimeter.
His figure was quickly swallowed by the white mist, vanishing from sight.
Seeing him leave, many in the crowd grew restless, their feet twitching as if to follow. Only the Red-haired man maintained a smirk of biting sarcasm.
Thirty seconds later-
“Aaaaah!”
A piercing scream rang out from within the white mist.
Those standing closest to the fog were so terrified they collapsed onto the ground, scrambling backward while pointing at the earth.
“Blood… blood…”
Fresh blood was gurgling and surging from the edge of the white mist.
Panic instantly erupted among the crowd. Everyone was in a chaotic frenzy, but they huddled together, and no one dared to approach the mist again.
My heart hammered against my ribs in tension.
Suddenly, I noticed that the blood on the ground seemed to be flowing along specific paths, converging into a pattern.
Finally, it formed several large, blood-red words:
“Welcome to the Terror Academy!”
My heart sank when I saw those words.
But it wasn’t over.
Below them, several lines of small black text appeared:
“If you wish to leave, please find your Exam Admission Ticket, participate in the exam, and achieve a perfect score.”
“If you fail, unfortunately-”
“Then confess your sins here and surrender your soul!”
Clearly, others had noticed it too. They asked in terror, “What does this mean?”
At that moment, in a place we couldn’t see, Bullet Comments began to scroll:
-There are so many newbies in this Dungeon. Are they all here just to deliver their heads on a silver platter?
-LOL, isn’t it like that every time? Newbies are such arrogant and stupid creatures. It’ll be a miracle if two out of ten survive.
…
I lifted my foot and started walking toward the white mist.
“Don’t go!” someone suddenly shouted. “Didn’t you see how that guy just died?”
I pointed at the white mist.
For a while now, the mist had been silently creeping toward us from that direction, closing in.
“If we don’t leave now, the mist is going to trap us here,” I said.
“Besides, there’s a prompt.”
“A prompt?!” The group was shocked.
I pointed to the line of blood-red words on the ground. If you leaned in just a bit further, you could see a blood-red marker pointing straight ahead.
I couldn’t think of any other option besides walking toward that marker.
In that case, I might as well follow it.
The Red-haired man narrowed his eyes at me.
“Quite clever, aren’t you?”
He began to walk over.
Strangely enough, as we followed the marker, the white mist slowly receded, and the scene before us became much clearer.
Some people hesitated, remaining where they were.
They were quickly engulfed by the encroaching white mist, letting out blood-curdling screams.
The Bullet Comments continued their discussion:
-This girl has some brains. I feel like she’s got potential. I’m placing my bets on her!
This appeared to be a school.
Following the marker all the way, we passed the cafeteria, the swimming pool, and the laboratory building.
Finally, the marker vanished, pointing toward the largest teaching building in the entire school.
I took a deep breath, preparing to step inside.
In the next moment, I froze.
I saw that every window of the teaching building was covered in layers of iron mesh.
And pressed against them were countless expressionless faces.
Their eyes were all staring right at us.
