Chapter 3

The Crown Prince appeared out of nowhere.

That sobered me up more than halfway. I shoved him away at once.

But according to the original timeline, the Crown Prince and I weren’t supposed to know each other yet…

The way he was acting now was very wrong.

I stared at him for a long moment, then tested the waters. “Brother Crown Prince?”

The Crown Prince froze for a beat. Then the corners of his mouth lifted, and he said excitedly, “You remember me? You’ve been reborn too.”

Too?

I’d been reborn so many times I was numb to it.

I took two steps back, my face tense.

Seeing him was no different from seeing the King of Hell himself chasing me with a knife.

“What do you want? I’m not ready to die yet.”

The Crown Prince wanted to start over with me.

He said it solemnly and sincerely.

“Changhuan, in the life before last, you married Third Brother, and he caused your death. In our last life, you carried on with him in secret and met a miserable end. Marry me this time. Between us, there will never be that homewrecker again.”

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

“Hold on. There were clearly three lifetimes, but you only remember two? So what I’m hearing is, anything that might stop you from taking the moral high ground just doesn’t exist in your memory?”

The Crown Prince widened his puppy-dog eyes. “I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

Me: “…”

In the end, I still politely turned the Crown Prince down.

“Here’s the thing, Brother Crown Prince. On average, I get one husband per lifetime. Last life, I had two, so I’m taking compensatory time off in this one.”

His gaze shifted past me, toward something behind my shoulder.

Suddenly, he pulled me into his arms and stared straight at me.

“Then tell me. Do you like me, or do you like that homewrecker?”

So he was blaming me.

In my last life, I married the Crown Prince, then had an affair with the Third Prince, leaving the Crown Prince traumatized.

I was just about to say, obviously I liked him.

A clear, cool voice sounded from behind me.

“Obviously, she likes me. If she liked Imperial Brother, then where would that leave me?”

I turned around. Little Third Brother had arrived.

The Third Prince stood beneath the eaves, smiling as he raised an eyebrow at me.

No need to ask. Looked like he had been reborn too.

The Third Prince also wanted me to start over with him.

“Imperial Sister-in-law, in the life before last, you married Imperial Brother and were buried in a sea of flames. Last life, you and I both died by his hand. Marry me this time.”

Fine. He had selective memory too.

How were men still like this even after being reborn?

Their guiding principle was apparently: if it’s bad for me, I don’t remember it.

I looked from one to the other. “Have either of you considered that if you combine your memories, you’ll reach the conclusion that neither of you is particularly suitable for me?”

The Crown Prince and the Third Prince looked at each other.

After a moment, they said in unison, “He’s lying.”

These two were absolutely impossible to reason with.

“Sorry, my two ex-husbands, but I don’t want to marry either of you.”

I had only taken two steps away when both my wrists were seized. With one hard tug-

I was shoved right back against the pillar.

The Crown Prince’s brows were tightly furrowed as he said firmly, “No. You have to choose one.”

The Third Prince curled his lips, his smile rakish and frivolous.

“If one won’t do, you can choose two.”

The Crown Prince glared at him. “Have you no shame?”

I also looked him up and down. “Are you addicted to being the other man or what?”

The Third Prince was completely unbothered.

“When other people are the other man, of course it’s cheap. When I do it, it’s a love that could topple kingdoms.”

Honestly, I did rather like this whole vibe of the Third Prince’s.

Pah! What was I thinking?

Old flames could be revisited, sure, but not when they were fatal.

Caught between men on both sides, I still refused to choose.

The Crown Prince and the Third Prince gazed at me resentfully, tightening their grips on my wrists as they drew closer and closer.

Not far away, a flurry of hurried footsteps rang out.

It interrupted us.

I hastily straightened up, while the Crown Prince and the Third Prince moved to shield me in front.

The Empress, my elder sister, and a group of noble young ladies had stumbled upon us.

Everyone looked at one another, whispering among themselves.

My sister’s face had gone white.

“Changhuan, why are you with the Crown Prince… and the Third Prince?”
