Summary
After a whirlwind marriage to Qi Shuo, a brilliant paleontologist she met online, Xia An discovers her clingy, secretive husband is not human. He hides tentacles, avoids intimacy in the light, barely eats, and seems to know her thoughts. Yet the deeper truth is stranger: his borrowed face belongs to the researcher who rescued her as a child, while the ancient being beneath it once protected her inside a living cave. Hurt by his deception, Xia An must decide whether identity lies in a face and name or in the devotion built between them—and whether a human can trust a monster learning how to love.
