Online Dating the Horror World BOSS - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I’d read enough novels to realize I had entered an infinite-flow world.
Absurd as it was, I took a deep breath and forced myself to accept reality.
Everything around me was a blank expanse of white, so much like a heavy winter fog.
I had only walked a few steps forward when, at the end of the thinning mist, an old hotel appeared.
The hotel clearly hadn’t been renovated in years. The paint on the exterior walls had begun to peel, leaving mottled patches of red and white that were rather horrifying to look at.
At that moment, the front doors stood wide open, and the lights inside were bright.
Only after I walked into the hotel did I realize the lobby was packed with table after table of guests. Each of them held a knife and fork, stabbing away at empty plates.
When they heard someone come in, they raised their heads and looked at us. Their eyes were stained with a scarlet greed, as if they were staring at lambs waiting for slaughter. Some even had drool leaking from the corners of their mouths.
A chill ran over me, raising a fine layer of goose bumps across my skin.
Although these people wore human skin, what kind of monsters lurked beneath it was still anyone’s guess.
With a bang, the doors behind us slammed shut, and my heart gave a violent tremble.
Before I could even catch my breath, there came another bang, and a small figure flew past my eyes.
It was a little girl. Like a rag, she crashed heavily into the corner of the wall.
She wore a filthy little dress, and her whole body had been beaten to the brink of death. In a weak, childish voice, she begged, “Daddy… please don’t hit me…”
In her arms was an equally filthy Doll.
After she said that, she lifted her head and looked in our direction. Bloody tears trickled from her eyes.
“Big brothers, big sisters… help me… I don’t want to die…”
At the sight, my face turned uncontrollably pale. The unbearable memories I had buried for years were dredged up again.
“Brother Mo, it’s Doll.”
At that moment, Su Momo tugged at Li Mo and pointed at the little girl.
No one answered the little girl’s plea for help. I closed my eyes too, turning my head away.
The next moment, the owner walked out.
“You money-losing little brat, shut the hell up!”
The owner’s face was covered in rolls of fat, and he looked vicious as he kicked the little girl.
In the haze of it all, I heard the sound of bones cracking. The little girl fell silent.
…Had she fainted, or was she dead?
I didn’t dare look. I clenched my hands tightly.
“Honored guests, welcome from afar. Please show me your ID cards so I can register you.”
The owner turned around, and when he faced us, he squeezed out an enthusiastic, fawning smile. The fat on his face piled together like a slab of pale pork, making me feel sick.
I observed Li Mo and the others. Seeing them tap on their wristbands, they each took out an invitation.
After Li Mo took his out, he turned to look at me. “Xia Xiwu. What a beautiful name. It suits you perfectly… So you’re a newbie? If you don’t know how, I can teach you.”
“She’s a newbie?”
Su Momo, standing beside him, looked at me with contempt.
“Looks like the BUG still hasn’t been fixed. A few days ago, a batch of newbies accidentally entered an S-rank instance too, and with just their luck, they landed right in the Big Boss’s hands. They were wiped out overnight!”
For some reason, when I heard that, my mind suddenly jumped to the phone call from the police station.
The people who had bullied me had all died miserably overnight a few days ago…
“Momo, don’t scare her. Everyone starts out as a newbie… Xiwu, you probably don’t know how to use the wristband. I’ll teach you.”
Li Mo walked behind me with a smile, trying to wrap his arms around me and operate the wristband for me.
I quickly dodged aside and, following the steps I had observed, successfully took out my invitation. “Thank you, Mr. Li, but there’s no need.”
He licked his thin lips, his gaze lingering on me for a long time. “No problem. There will always be something you don’t know how to do. When the time comes, I can teach you hand over hand.”
I was so grossed out-aaah!
Ignoring him, I watched as the owner took the invitations and respectfully went upstairs.
The hotel had a spiral staircase, winding upward in ring after ring. Looking up at it, it resembled a whirlpool.
The owner’s figure gradually shrank, then disappeared on the top floor.
Only about a minute later, the owner suddenly flew straight into the air, then came crashing down heavily.
He landed not far from me, without the slightest deviation.
He was like a flattened patty of meat. Blood spread beneath him, and it was actually pitch-black!
This sudden turn of events stunned not only the players. Even the guests who had been sharpening their knives and eyeing us fell silent one by one, staring at the top floor in frozen terror.
