Pathological Heart Lock - Chapter 19
Chapter 19
I was sandwiched between the two of them.
I sobbed uncontrollably, my tears flowing without end.
This was the most debauched day I had experienced in all my twenty years.
I had truly leaped from the tiger’s mouth only to land in a wolf’s den.
Pei Wang bit the back of my neck, growling harshly, “Xinxin, this is the price for your lies.”
Was the price for lying… exactly what the Predictive Bullet Chat said it would be?
I lay flat on the bed, staring blankly at the ceiling as tears rolled down my face of their own accord.
Finally, it was over.
No, that wasn’t quite right. It wasn’t over yet.
A violent roar suddenly erupted from downstairs.
Xie Lizhi and Pei Wang’s expressions tightened. They tucked me under the covers, gave me a quick instruction, and then hurriedly got up and headed downstairs.
I couldn’t help but peek out the window.
…It was Shen Qinghe.
Somehow, he had manufactured a bunch of explosives and blown the manor’s front gates apart.
He stood at the entrance, clad in a black trench coat. Behind his reflective glasses, his cold, predatory dark eyes swept over Pei Wang and Xie Lizhi with a somber intensity.
“Where is my girlfriend?”
Pei Wang let out a frustrated, mocking laugh. “You managed to reel in another one? Well done, Youxin!”
Xie Lizhi remained expressionless, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.
The three men didn’t waste time with words; they went straight for each other’s throats.
Pei Wang and Xie Lizhi became temporary allies with a shared goal: drive away the man in the trench coat.
But Shen Qinghe had bombs.
For a while, the ground beneath the manor shook with thunderous explosions.
The surviving players were terrified. Not knowing what was happening and fearing the dungeon was collapsing, they hid in their rooms, trembling in fear.
It was truly a case of gods fighting while mortals suffered.
Pei Wang grit his teeth impatiently. “Get these players out of here first!”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the group of players was kicked out of the dungeon and sent back to reality.
I was the only one left in the game…
I was scared out of my wits as I watched them fight for half an hour.
Eventually, unable to overcome the two of them, Shen Qinghe left with a dark expression.
Phew! It was good that he was gone. Either way, no matter what he said, I wasn’t getting back together with him.
Pei Wang and Xie Lizhi were also injured. They likely didn’t have the energy left to continue “interrogating” me today.
A strange balance was once again reached between the two men; neither tried to seize “ownership” of me.
For once, I managed to get a peaceful night’s sleep.
