Pathological Heart Lock - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
My legs shook like leaves the entire way there.
Our bridal suite-Mr. Xie’s and mine-was on the third floor.
I pushed open the bedroom door to find a massive double bed and a full set of furniture. A silk nightgown was laid out neatly on the bed.
I picked it up by a corner, holding it between two fingers.
The fabric was incredibly soft and so thin that wearing it would be practically the same as wearing nothing at all…
My eyes widened in disbelief.
This was the outfit Mr. Xie had prepared for me?
I was supposed to wear this to face a horror game boss?
Is he insane!?
Was this boss even a decent person when he was alive?
With a stiff expression, I tossed the nightgown aside and began scouring the room for clues.
Unfortunately, despite the countless drawers and cabinets in the spacious room, they contained nothing but everyday items. There wasn’t a single useful thing to be found.
I sat on the bed, feeling dejected and hopeless.
I watched helplessly as the time ticked away toward 11:30 PM.
Suddenly, a piercing scream erupted from downstairs.
“Ahhh! Liu Dazhuang is dead!”
A middle-aged man had simply reached out to touch a vase on a shelf, and his head had instantly exploded into a mist of blood.
The surrounding players were splattered with gore, causing them to break down in hysterical wails.
I remembered that Liu Dazhuang’s role was the Gardener.
A Gardener was a servant, and according to the rules, servants weren’t allowed to touch the master’s collectibles.
That was why he died.
I looked up at the wall clock; it was nearing midnight.
The Manor Owner was about to return.
If I didn’t do as he asked, I would die too.
Resigned to my fate, I changed into that thin silk nightgown.
I had only ever worn clothes like this in front of my boyfriend, Xie Lizhi.
He had his own little quirks; he loved seeing me in strange outfits, and such sights would excite him to no end.
But now, we were separated by the veil between life and death.
I was about to become his deceased ‘white moonlight.’
Sob… Xie Lizhi, let’s meet again in the next life.
