Chapter 1

Qingheng and I were fighting demon beasts in a secret realm.

My hand slipped, and instead of grabbing the knockout powder, I grabbed an aphrodisiac and scattered it downwind for two whole li.

The demon beast went weak at the knees.

So did Qingheng.

He stumbled, held his breath, gathered his focus, and clenched his teeth around the strain as he gripped his sword. Then, while the demon beast was still dazed, he drove his blade into its body, sending blood spraying through the air.

He used his sword to prop up his limp body and turned back to look at me.

Blood bloomed across his face like something bewitching. The corners of his eyes were flushed red, his breathing unsteady.

“How could you… fail to distinguish friend from foe?”

Friend from foe?

Please.

I hadn’t even distinguished myself from the foe.

My face was flushed like I was drunk, my eyes soft and alluring, my breath fragrant as orchids.

“Qingheng…

“Let me sleep with you.”

“Shameless.”

Qingheng scolded me under his breath, but his voice was hoarse, and the end of it trembled. If anything, it sounded like he was seducing me.

He seemed to realize it too. His lips pressed into a thin line, and without another word, he started walking out.

His figure swayed a little.

He looked so fragile. So shattered. So easy to pounce on.

But he was carrying a sword and was extremely wary of me.

After all, a few decades ago, his senior brother had let his guard down for one moment and ended up drugged and taken by my senior sister.

Qingheng muttered helplessly to himself, “Is it my turn now?”

He steadied himself, then took a jade talisman from his robes.

I laughed when I saw it.

“That aphrodisiac is from the Harmony Sect. A talisman can’t cure it. Stop struggling and just give in to me.”

Qingheng ignored me and began forming seals over the jade talisman on his own.

I took the chance to move closer, pressing my soft body against his and leaning in to blow gently by his ear, my voice as seductive as I could make it.

“Qingheng, I feel awful. Isn’t the Sword Sect supposed to save the world and rescue people? Be kind. Save me. Let me sleep with you, just once.

“Why are you blushing? Say something. Stop playing with that stupid talisman.”

Qingheng went rigid and nearly lost his grip on the jade talisman.

His cool, aloof expression cracked, and his voice went taut.

“…This is the Sword Sect’s communication talisman.”

I froze, then craned my neck to look.

The scenery of the Sword Sect had appeared on the jade talisman.

Everyone in the Sword Sect-Qingheng’s master and martial uncles, his junior brothers and sisters, the white cranes by the pond, even the yellow dog at the gate-

were all crowded together, their faces blank with shock as they stared at us.

His master blushed despite his age, covered his face, and coughed softly.

“Ahem. Disciple, although I did tell you to act according to orders, dual cultivation is not something you need to request permission for…

“Take your time. Meeting dismissed.”

The image on the jade talisman vanished at once.

In Qingheng’s usually calm, emotionless eyes, two words were written plainly.

Kill me.
