Summary
Chapter 0 My mother waited for my father her entire life. Even when she was bedridden with a lingering illness, she never got to walk with him through the snow in search of plum blossoms. So when the Second Young Master of the Cui Family and I took a liking to each other, I made it clear to him: I would only wait for him three times. The first time would be for the joy of our first meeting. The second would be for the bond of truly knowing each other. The third would be for the affection of walking through life together. After three times, all love and obligation between us would be severed, and we would have nothing more to do with each other in this lifetime. Cui Erlang agreed with a smile, saying that to be granted such a fine match was a blessing from heaven-how could he possibly push good fortune away? Later, he rescued a young woman. For her sake, he made me wait again and again. The last time, he sent someone to pass along a message: the wedding date was to be postponed. Once he had brought that young woman back safely, we could discuss the marriage again. I sneered. “Whether I marry or not, and whom I marry, what does any of it have to do with Young Master Cui?” After that, the wedding proceeded on schedule. Only, the groom had been changed. Someone trying to steal what was mine was certainly detestable. But someone trying to steal what belonged to Cui Erlang? In my eyes, they were positively adorable.
