Quick Travel: Reverse Redemption - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Maple Forest Private High School, Senior Year Class 1.
It was lunchtime, and the students had all gone to the cafeteria, leaving the classroom empty.
Yet in the front row by the window, a boy was still sitting at his desk.
He wore a white shirt, his back straight and his posture impeccable. He lifted the lid off his lunchbox with slow, refined movements.
Even from behind, it was obvious he had been well brought up. There was something unmistakably distinguished about him.
I sat diagonally across from him in the very back row, chewing on a piece of bread as I openly sized him up.
“The parts that weren’t written in the book-you can’t investigate what he actually went through either, right?”
I asked the System in my mind.
“Correct. We can only make inferences based on his character background, but rest assured, Host. A character’s experiences will never deviate from their established setting.”
That was what made it strange.
According to the original book’s setting, Xie Wang was born into a wealthy family. Both his parents were alive, and his family was harmonious.
He himself was exceptionally intelligent and outstanding in his studies. Ever since he was young, he had grown up surrounded by admiration and indulgence.
But after studying abroad in university and returning to take over Xie Group, the very first thing he did was destroy the entire corporation.
He murdered his father and mother, locked every one of his relatives in psychiatric hospitals, and every high school classmate who had once been kind to him met with a miserable end.
Even when the heir of a rival conglomerate-the male lead of the book-couldn’t stand by and tried to help protect his family’s business, Xie Wang not only refused to appreciate it, but turned against him instead.
He was, in every sense, a madman whose actions made no logical sense.
“In our previous attempts, we couldn’t even find the reason the villain turned evil, so this Redemption Mission has never been completed.”
The System sounded deeply worried. “White moonlight, scheming green tea, cute girl, handsome guy… We’ve tried every approach there is, but the villain remained unmoved.”
“Host, you’re the only one with a 100% mission success rate. This is our last chance. I’m begging you!”
I raised an eyebrow, pulled my thoughts back, and stood up from my seat.
By the time I stopped in front of Xie Wang’s desk, he had just picked up a piece of broccoli with his chopsticks.
Maple Forest High School was a famous elite school in the country. The cafeteria hired renowned chefs from all over, so the food was far from bad.
But Xie Wang never went to the cafeteria. His meals were custom-made by a nutritionist, and the Xie Family arranged for a maid to deliver them every day.
I stared a little too long at the table full of nutritionally balanced, colorful dishes.
A floret of broccoli was then held up before my eyes.
Along with it came a gentle, quiet question:
“Do you… want some?”
