Raising Disciples Brings Trouble - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
They want to lock me in a dark room?
They don’t have the guts!
I tossed the disciple petition onto the table and shot my second disciple, Sui Qingjing, a sidelong glance.
Then I asked him, “What are you holding?”
Sui Qingjing’s throat bobbed. Reluctantly, he pulled the Immortal-Binding Rope out from behind his back.
“The Immortal… Immortal-Binding Rope.”
Without even lifting my eyes, I kept staring at the disciple petition on the table and asked, “Who are you planning to bind?”
Sui Qingjing lowered his head even further.
Yet what came out of his mouth was even more outrageous.
“You.”
I had known for a long time that those two weren’t normal.
Among all the heroes under heaven, how many had a sound mind?
But I never expected that the youngest one, Sui Qingjing, would stop even bothering to pretend.
I snatched up his disciple petition and smashed it hard into his face.
“Say that again!”
“Bind you.”
The scroll of the disciple petition had sharp edges. I had used a lot of force, and he hadn’t dodged.
A long cut opened along his brow bone.
He looked so meek and obedient, yet every word was treasonous.
The sight only made me angrier.
When a person was furious, it was hard to speak rationally.
“For defying your superior, by sect law you should be expelled-”
Before I could finish, I saw the floating comments.
[Don’t, Master! Don’t provoke the villain with harsh words!]
[After he awakens his demon blood later on, he nearly wipes out half the male lead’s sect.]
[Aside from this tiny broken sect, the villain kills wherever he goes.]
[It’s all because he blackens after Master expels him from the sect!]
I forced the rest of my threat back down my throat.
But the anger still had nowhere to go.
I snatched the Immortal-Binding Rope from Sui Qingjing’s hand.
After wrapping it a few times around my palm and tightening my grip, I flicked my wrist and lashed his shoulder with it.
“Take back your words and your disciple petition, and I’ll pretend I never heard anything today.”
He suddenly lifted his eyes. Their depths were dark, a tide of emotion surging within them.
But in the next second, Sui Qingjing lowered his gaze. Round, full tears began to roll down one after another.
He cried very quietly, very refinedly.
He didn’t look at you. He didn’t speak. Blood and tears slid down together.
In the end, I couldn’t bring myself to bring down the whip I had raised.
“Do I owe you something? Sui Qingjing, are you trying to drive me to my death? Will you only be happy once I’m dead? Is that it?”
What was I supposed to do?
He always used this trick, and unfortunately, I fell for it every time.
Sui Qingjing shook his head.
Tears scattered from the motion.
“You don’t. I’m not. It isn’t.”
“Can’t you learn from your senior brother? At least…”
My voice went hoarse.
At least what?
At least he was better at pretending?
Better at pretending to be a normal person?
So good at it that even his closest junior brother had no idea that his eldest senior brother’s inner demon was me?
The moment he heard me mention his senior brother, Mo Cangyue, Sui Qingjing’s tone turned sour.
“Master, do you really think Senior Brother is some upright gentleman?”
Of course he wasn’t.
But I could only pretend not to know.
If I did know, I was afraid Mo Cangyue’s inner demon would thoroughly take his life!
“Enough!”
Mo Cangyue grabbed Sui Qingjing and pulled him aside, his expression displeased.
More than that, though, there was guilt.
“Qingjing, we’ve disturbed Master enough today. Let her rest.”
Mo Cangyue was so good at pretending.
Without a change in expression, he picked up his own disciple petition and tucked it into the front of his robes.
Then he picked up the bloodstained one from the floor and handed it to Sui Qingjing.
He stepped back and bowed in farewell.
Then, half dragging and half hauling Sui Qingjing, he pulled him out of the main hall.
“Wait-”
I called out to Sui Qingjing.
Seeing the red trailing from the corner of his eye, I sighed.
“Remember to put medicine on it when you get back.”
Sui Qingjing’s eyes grew even brighter.
He nodded firmly, his delicate features relaxing.
“It doesn’t hurt at all, Master.”
Yes.
This wretched glutton for punishment.
Next time, I definitely won’t show mercy again.
