Summary
My husband was an imperial prince posing as a penniless scholar. I was the village healer who believed his tender words. Then I overheard his plan: take the blood from my heart to cure the woman he truly loved, and leave me to die. He called it an honor for a creature like me. Very well. If saving his beloved was such an honor, he could have it himself. With a red koi for an accomplice and a prince’s spotless reputation to work with, I began preparing a gift my dear husband would never forget.
