Seduce the Emperor to Surrender - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
“Teacher, you want to resign?”
Yan Zhao set down his brush and looked up at me.
His eyes gave away no joy or anger.
I nodded. “Great Yan is at peace now. I want to travel and see the world.”
I had served as Imperial Tutor for fifteen years.
I had stayed by Yan Zhao’s side as he rose from powerless and alone to firmly seated upon the throne.
I had accompanied him through campaigns north and south.
We had recovered every inch of Great Yan’s territory.
Now, it was time for me to retire with my work complete.
“Then… what about me?”
Yan Zhao propped his chin on his hand.
Like a puppy with its ears drooping.
He looked a little aggrieved.
“Teacher doesn’t want me anymore?”
I couldn’t help but laugh. “I’ll write to you often.”
Chapter 2
On the day I left the capital,
Yan Zhao handed me a cup of wine.
He smiled gently.
“Teacher, may your journey be smooth.”
Without the slightest guard, I drank it all in one gulp.
By the time I realized something was wrong…
My consciousness was already slipping away.
When I opened my eyes again,
I found myself lying on the dragon bed.
A cold sensation came from my wrist.
I lifted my head and looked.
It was an exquisite golden chain.
“Awake?”
Yan Zhao lifted the bed curtains and slowly walked closer.
His bright yellow dragon robe hung loosely over his body,
revealing a broad expanse of his chest.
He was utterly unlike his obedient self of the past.
I frowned. “Your Majesty, what is the meaning of this?”
Yan Zhao leaned down.
His fingertips lightly traced my cheek.
“Teacher, you taught me the ways of governing a nation and the strategies of war, but you left out one thing.”
“What?”
“The arts of the bedchamber.”
My pupils contracted sharply, and I stared at him in disbelief.
“Absurd!”
“Yun Chaojiang, if you hadn’t tried to leave, I would have planned to hide this for the rest of my life.”
He leaned close to my ear.
His warm breath spilled against the side of my neck.
We had spent fifteen years together, day and night.
Never once had I known
that he harbored such feelings for me.
Chapter 3
I was born into a family of chancellors.
Since the founding of the dynasty,
the Yun Family had produced three chancellors.
But a tall tree catches the wind, and the Late Emperor grew wary of us.
My father was forced to resign.
“Does that dog emperor really think I care about this rotten chancellor’s post? Bah!”
Our family found a place in the mountains and forests and lived in seclusion.
My studies, however,
could not be neglected in the slightest.
Fifteen years ago,
the Late Emperor suddenly passed away.
Yan Zhao, only eight years old, was forced to ascend the throne.
Wolves circled on every side, while he was weak and alone.
A loyal servant escorted him all the way to seek out my father.
The young emperor
was like a hatchling abandoned the moment it broke free of its shell.
With red-rimmed eyes, he begged my father to return and take charge of the situation.
My father gave a cold snort and shut him outside the door.
I pitied him, so I brought him a bun. “Eat this, then go back.”
Yan Zhao obediently finished the bun before he spoke.
“Before Father Emperor died, he told me again and again that I had to find Chancellor Yun.”
“He said-”
Perhaps the memory was too painful.
Yan Zhao’s tears began to fall, pattering down one after another.
