Yu Sheng never brought up the fact that he was dating Shen Tingxuan, and I pretended I knew nothing about it. The only thing I did was turn him down when he suggested going to the hospital with me.

He had been spacing out, but at my answer, he looked at me. “Are you upset? Did someone mess with you?”

He could still accurately pick up on my moods. How rare. Had he split his heart in two to use separately?

I asked, “Why did you get into that fight the other day?”

“That guy just pissed me off.”

“That’s all?” I pressed.

He smiled. “What else would it be?”

I nodded, stuffed my hands into my pockets, and shifted a step away from him. “You should focus more on studying. I’m going to the hospital.”

He didn’t finish calling my name, because Shen Tingxuan appeared.

By the time I looked back, his gaze had already moved to someone else.

Expecting one person to stay forever faithful to another was already a pretty rare thing. I shouldn’t have had such high expectations. Yu Sheng was the one who let go first, and he was also the one who broke our promise back then. There was no need for me to keep taking it seriously, and no need for me to feel sad.

“After all I’ve said, have you taken in any of it?!” the man asked, clearing his throat.

The boy still had that aloof, cool, untouchable look. He merely raised a hand and scratched his ear. “I’ll think about it.”

That line obviously enraged the man. Just as he was about to explode, the boy suddenly raised a hand and pointed at me. “Look.”

“Second Uncle.” His voice was low, magnetic, and pleasant to the ear, his tone lazy. With that cold yet exceptionally good-looking face, he said, “It’s already obvious how much your voice affects other people. Didn’t you see? You’ve been so loud you made him cry like that.”
