Snatched by the Villain - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
“We’re here.”
Fu Nanzhou stopped so abruptly that I failed to brake in time and slammed straight into his back.
Was this guy’s back made of iron? It was so hard!
Clutching my forehead, I bared my teeth in pain.
Above my head, Fu Nanzhou let out a soft snort of laughter.
“Silly thing.”
I couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. Once the pain eased, I thanked him and prepared to borrow the imperial kitchen for a quick in-and-out operation.
To my surprise, Fu Nanzhou strode in after me on those long legs of his.
Maybe my look was too astonished, because Fu Nanzhou replied in a faint, languid tone, “What? Your big brother is hungry too. Wanwan, are you going to chase me away?”
Well, now that he put it that way, I did want to.
But did I dare? Absolutely not!
So I quickly made Qingning a cup of salted lemon tea, and I didn’t forget to whip up a bowl of braised eggplant noodles for Fu Nanzhou either.
Just as I was bustling around, a small gray shadow suddenly sidled up beside my foot.
Was that a r… rat?
Every hair on my body stood on end.
“He… help me!!!!!”
In my panic, I practically climbed onto Fu Nanzhou and clung to him for dear life, refusing to let go.
I had already braced myself for him to throw me off. Instead, after a brief pause, he lifted a large hand and gently patted me in comfort.
“Don’t be scared. It’s all right now.”
“Is… is it dead?”
Only after he confirmed it did I dare open my eyes.
Who would have thought I would end up staring straight into four more round, beady little eyes?
“Bro, hear me out. In a second, please make sure you hold on to me tight.”
Fu Nanzhou: ???!
Before darkness swallowed my consciousness, I couldn’t help cursing one last time:
Screw you! Goddamn rats!!!
…
“Awake?”
When I woke up again, Qingning was sitting by the table, cracking sunflower seeds.
“What happened to me…”
“Oh, last night you passed out from fright because of the rats, and Fu Nanzhou personally carried you back.” Qingning looked thoroughly ready for gossip. “Be honest. When exactly did you two get together?”
I nearly fell off the bed with a crash.
“Princess, there’s nothing going on between Junior Tutor Fu and me! I swear we’re innocent!”
“Why are you so nervous?” Qingning said reproachfully. “What a shame. And here I spent the whole night shipping your CP.”
Wait. Shipping CP?!
“Princess, odd changes, even stays the same!”
“Huh?”
“Prosperity, democracy, civility, harmony?”
“What are you talking about? Did the rats scare you stupid?”
Princess Qingning reached out to feel my forehead. I tilted my head away and, unwilling to give up, kept pressing her.
“Princess, where did you learn the term ‘shipping CP’?”
“From storybooks.” As she spoke, Princess Qingning reached behind her and pulled out a copy of The Overbearing Junior Tutor and the Delicate Heiress Fall in Love with Me.
Me: ???
What was going on? It had only been one night since yesterday! The storybook had already been published?
“You didn’t see how nervous Fu Nanzhou looked when he carried you back yesterday. I heard he went to Imperial Brother first thing this morning to request an order, and now people are catching rats all over the palace.”
Princess Qingning rubbed her chin and said leisurely, “Honestly, it would be great if you could marry Fu Nanzhou. Then you could help me put him in his place!”
I froze. “Princess, you don’t like Junior Tutor Fu?”
“Why would I like him?” The princess covered her chest with a look of horror. “I’m terrified of him, okay?!”
“Huh?”
“Imperial Brother once had him assist the Grand Tutor with my lessons. That man has even more problems than the Grand Tutor! Because of him, even now, I feel like throwing up whenever I see a book.” Qingning said this indignantly.
“And I keep having dreams where he’s holding this really long sword and stabbing me with it.”
My heart lurched.
In the original novel, Qingning had indeed been stabbed to death by Fu Nanzhou.
Could it be that Princess Qingning was dreaming of her previous life with Fu Nanzhou?
