Chapter 211

As Ashera’s voice trailed off, the atmosphere in the room suddenly grew thick with ambiguity.

Beili glanced at Ashera, then shifted closer to him, still wrapped in her bath towel.

She pursed her lips slightly.

Then, she reached out and slowly pressed her palm into his Black Robe.

Her hand sank in as if plunging into a black swamp.

Thick blood instantly coated her hand.

That dense, subtle sensation returned.

Beili once again felt the ‘centipedes,’ ‘ants,’ and ‘various crawling insects’ within the blood scurrying across her palm, between her fingers, and over the back of her hand.

With a slight twitch of her fingertips, she gently felt around inside that black swamp.

Whenever her hand brushed against the fine, thread-like strands mixed within the blood, Ashera’s eyelashes would tremble slightly.

As she touched them more frequently, a strange emotion began to surface in those golden eyes.

His breathing grew heavy.

At one point, Beili felt her fingertips suddenly brush against a metallic chain. Her lashes flickered, and she was just about to hook it.

But after a viscous roll of the blood, the chain vanished.

Beili lifted her red eyes to look at Ashera.

The latter was also looking down at her lazily.

His holy golden eyes curved into their usual half-smile, but the depths of his pupils were already saturated with desire.

Ashera… was inviting her. Was that how she should interpret this?

Her jewel-like crimson eyes blinked softly. She curled her fingers, slowly grasping a handful of the thread-like blood vessels buried in the blood.

Then, she heard Ashera let out a muffled groan. His cold lips parted slightly, exhaling a breath of chilled air.

A mixture of pain and pleasure flashed through his golden eyes.

Beili’s movements paused for half a beat as she looked at Ashera.

“Does it hurt?” she asked curiously.

“It does,” Ashera answered. He reached out, pressing the back of her neck to pull her closer. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and he said slowly in a hoarse voice, “And it can hurt even more.”

“…” How arrogant.

Hearing his words, Beili released the blood threads that were as fine as cotton.

Then she spread her fingers, hooked them again, and grabbed even more threads, clenching them tightly as if she intended to snap them.

“You…”

Ashera’s breath hitched.

He released the back of her neck, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he let out a suppressed sound.

When he looked at her again, a faint, dark light flickered in his golden eyes-

It was as if he wanted to devour her.

Beili felt a bit guilty under his gaze and quickly looked away, pretending nothing was wrong.

Knowing she had been a bit rough just now, she released the blood threads while averting her gaze. She began to comb through them as if she were brushing hair, her movements becoming gentle.

The master of the black swamp, having been stimulated and then tenderly soothed, couldn’t help but reach out and pull her entire body against him.

Cold kisses, mingled with his exhaled breath, fell upon her earlobe and the side of her neck.

Outside the window behind them was a dense drizzle and heavy white mist; her eyes reflected the dark light surging within his golden ones.

Looking at that perfectly lined face flushed with desire, Beili felt she had finally figured out the trick.

After a soft blink of her lashes, while the ‘insects,’ ‘centipedes,’ and ‘ants’ inside Ashera’s body wound themselves cloyingly around her fingers, she caught them off guard and clenched her hand tight once more.

Ashera pressed his thin lips together, letting out a heavy grunt.

Taking advantage of the moment, Beili felt around. When her fingertips brushed against the metallic chain hidden in the blood again, she quickly pulled it out.

“Ashera…”

She raised her hand, the Bracelet swaying slightly between her fingers as she reminded him, “I got it.”
Having secured the Spatial Bracelet, Beili couldn’t wait to turn around and pull out a black dress from within it.

She was just about to get out of bed and head to the bathroom to change when her body suddenly froze.

Countless black ribbons drifted out from beneath Ashera’s Black Robe, coiling around her wrists and ankles like snakes.

Another ribbon wound around her waist and neck, pulling her into his embrace.

He tilted his head up to kiss her neck.

Like a block of ice carrying the scent of blood, his tongue licked a path from the side of her neck down to her collarbone.

When he tried to go further down, her hand clamped firmly over the spot.

“I… I’ve already gotten it.”

Beili repeated herself, her tone tactful.

The latter acted as if he hadn’t heard her, his long, straight eyelashes curving slightly as he gave her a soft smile.

His cold, large hands cupped her face, pressing gentle kisses against her lips.

“…”

Meeting those golden eyes that were still far from satiated, Beili pondered for a few seconds before reaching her hand back into his abdomen.

She gave his internal organs a thorough stir-

Finally, he settled down.

…

Ashera grew quiet and stopped making a sound.

The dark red vertical pupils within his golden eyes constricted until they were as thin as paper.

His chest heaved, and his breathing was heavy.

He likely needed a moment to recover.

The black ribbons wrapped around Beili had mostly unraveled, except for one that remained coiled around her ankle, refusing to let go.

Left with no choice, she put on the black dress she had pulled out while still on the bed. Then, she took out the Communication Orb and flicked her finger lightly to place a call to Madam Constance.

“Mother…”

Once the Communication Orb connected, Beili spoke softly.

Madam Constance seemed to be taking a nap. When she answered the call, her voice carried a hint of grogginess as she asked:

“Luoluo, are you having fun with your little lover?”

Beili froze for a moment.

She had originally thought Madam Constance would be frantic with worry after failing to find her at Cyril’s Coming-of-Age Ceremony ball.

Instead, the moment the call connected, the woman had asked such a question.

It was truly unexpected.

It also caused the explanation Beili had prepared to die on her lips.

She remained silent for two seconds before asking with a hint of uncertainty, “Mother, you know I’m with the Second Prince?”

Madam Constance’s laughter came clearly through the Communication Orb. Beili could even imagine the woman covering her mouth as she giggled.

“Luoluo, what are you saying?”

A second later, she heard Madam Constance say:

“When the ball ended, didn’t you pull the Second Prince over to see Mother and say you were going away with him for a while?”

“Even when Doctor Cassius stepped forward and offered to be a Guard for the two of you, you refused.”

“I must say, Luoluo, you might have been drunk, but you were truly fierce toward Doctor Cassius at the time.”

Madam Constance’s voice sighed with wonder through the Communication Orb.

“Oh, Mother has never seen you use that kind of tone, such impatience.”

…What?

Beili uttered a dazed “Ah,” as if she hadn’t understood the words.

The hand clutching the Communication Orb stiffened. Then, she whipped her head around to look at the silver-haired man in the Black Robe lying on the bed with his eyes closed.

The latter didn’t open his eyes, but the corners of his cold, thin lips curled up slightly.

Through the Communication Orb, Madam Constance seemed to perk up, her voice becoming much clearer.

“So, Luoluo, is the trip with your little lover fun?”

She asked with genuine concern before adding in the habitually confident tone of a Noble:

“Mother knew the two of you would make up. How could someone Luoluo likes possibly not be won over…”
