Chapter 311

This “Alien” seemed to have received orders from Ashera and was specifically in charge of her three meals a day.

Beili first gave it the nickname “Alien” in her mind, though it was very likely a gigantic dark creature.

After tasting the familiar bread, Beili could not help guessing that her Spatial Bracelet might be in the keeping of these dark creatures.

That would explain everything nicely.

If she needed a change of clothes, or if her cold-proof cloak stopped working, what was she supposed to do? Naturally, the dark creatures would bring them to her.

The closer one got to the Far North, the larger the dark creatures here became, and the higher their intelligence.

Some could even understand human speech.

Before the “Alien” could leave, Beili swallowed the bread in her mouth and spoke toward the direction the sound had come from.

“I was just getting hungry. Thank you for bringing me the bread.”

What answered her was another string of gurgling, bubbling sounds.

This string of bubbles sounded especially light and cheerful.

Beili guessed that this bubbling probably corresponded to something like “you’re welcome.”

Immediately after came another string of bubbles. This might have been it telling her that it was going to withdraw, because the ground rang again with the heavy, rustling footsteps of a huge creature treading across the snow.

“Um…” Beili hurriedly spoke up.

The space in front of her went quiet again. The rustling footsteps stopped. That “Alien” must have stopped, seemingly waiting for the rest of her sentence.

Beili said, “Could you bring me a thicker blanket? You can look around. I hope the blanket is purple, with only butterfly patterns on it, if there is one.”

After a burst of gurgling bubbles, the footsteps gradually faded away.

A while later, the footsteps returned. Along with another burst of bubbling, a soft, fluffy blanket was gently laid over her knees.

Beili’s shoulders paused slightly. She immediately reached out to feel the blanket, and sure enough, she touched the familiar butterfly pattern woven into the fabric.

The Spatial Bracelet was being kept by this guy.

Beili became even more certain of it.

“Um, one blanket isn’t really enough. Could you bring the quilt too? This stone platform is very hard, and I need something to pad it with.”

Before it could leave, Beili made another request.

“Lay it here. I want to sleep for a bit.”

A moment later, the huge creature came back with rustling steps.

A quilt fell onto Beili, still carrying the cold dampness of snowflakes.

Beili felt around and spread the quilt on the ground as padding.

“Um, just having a quilt isn’t enough. I need a pillow too.”

She continued right away.

The “Alien” left and brought back a fluffy pillow, also from her Spatial Bracelet.

“Sorry to trouble you, but could you look for my perfume…”

“If you don’t know what perfume is, there’s a little bottle with a butterfly pattern. Attached to the bottle is a little bulb. If you press that bulb, a fragrance sprays out.”

As she described it, she gestured, her tone sincere.

“I have to spray this inside the quilt when I sleep. Sorry for the trouble.”

This time, the returning footsteps sounded somewhat heavy.

It seemed to carry a trace of displeasure. When the perfume rolled to her side, the bubbling sound from its mouth had become a little low.

“Could you help me bring one more thing over?”

The “gurgle gurgle” grew louder.

Beili sensed a hint of complaint in the sound, as if it were grumbling, “Can you ask for everything all at once?”

Beili ignored it and continued describing, “It’s a very, very small object. Black, like a Little Scythe.”
…

Snow fell thickly.

Large flakes were like torn cotton, carried by the wind and landing in her palm.

Beili sat cross-legged on the quilt, a blanket draped over her knees.

The “Alien” had either grown tired or been delayed by something.

She sensed that this time seemed to be taking longer than any previous trip.

When the rustling sound of footsteps trampling through snow approached again,

Beili turned her head toward its direction.

“Did you bring it?”

She calmly stretched out her hand toward it. “Give it to me.”

It was empty.

Nothing was placed in her hand.

Only the bubbling sound rang out, gurgling.

It said a great deal.

Although Beili could not understand a single word, she could sense a trace of apology in the dark creature’s words.

It had no way to bring the Black Bone Scythe over. Beili summarized this in understanding.

However.

“It’s all right.”

During the time she had spent waiting just now, Beili had thought of something else…

She withdrew her hand, her expression peaceful, and said in a natural voice,

“Then help me bring one more thing. It is gold, a necklace.”

On the other side, after hearing her words, the “Alien” made another burst of bubbling sounds in response. Then its footsteps sounded again, gradually moving away.

Beili sat where she was and waited patiently.

Time passed second by second.

The wind and snow outside grew stronger, and snowflakes kept drifting onto her cloak.

When she had shaken them off for the seventh time, the familiar footsteps came again.

A faint sound.

Something was tossed onto the quilt in front of her.

Beili reached out and soon touched an icy necklace. The pendant on the chain, hard and metallic, outlined the shape of a whistle in her palm.

She put the whistle in her mouth and blew.

In the next second, what lay beneath her feet was no longer the soft quilt, and the broad, lake-like Mana Pool was freed.

…

Beili was not certain where she had teleported.

According to Cyril’s description, if he himself was not nearby, then after the golden whistle was blown, the teleportation location would be random.

However, even after leaving the stone platform, her vision still had not recovered.

Beili touched her eyeballs through her eyelids.

Her eyeballs were still there. She simply could not see.

In the distance came the howling of a giant dark creature.

Gathering her focus, Beili pushed herself up from the snow and quickly stood, raising her hand to instantly summon several Morpho Butterflies.

Then she Beast Transformed.

All the Morpho Butterflies dimmed their light and instantly changed color, turning as white as snowflakes.

Yes. As her Mana Pool continued expanding, the Morpho Butterflies had not only increased in number and gained stronger corrosive power, but had also acquired the ability to change color.

This way, she could hide better.

Beili ordered one of the Morpho Butterflies to carry her in its mouth and fly up.

The Far North was trapped in a long polar night. Aside from faint, distant starlight, there was almost no other light source.

Once they flew into the air, it was as if they disappeared into the vast ice and snow, perfectly blending into the snowflakes dancing through the sky.

If you see the stone platform, you must go around it, Beili specifically reminded the Morpho Butterflies.

She did not want to be trapped again.

…

At the same time, because of the girl’s disappearance, that dark creature recovered its frenzied nature.

It let out a deafening howl, the sound spreading through the cold air.

Its enormous body ran swiftly through the snow, kicking up a trail of snow behind it.

The dark creature kept searching for her traces.
