Survival Guide After Accidentally Kissing a Demon - Chapter 368
*It All Ended with a Wedding in Hell*
After attending the funeral and returning to Hell, the first order of business was, of course, to turn on the ‘lights’ in the territory!
Beili used her divine power to summon an enormous blue-green butterfly.
The butterfly beat its wings and gave off a dazzling light, serving as a sun in the sky above the territory.
At once, the evil spirits and dead souls throughout the territory screamed and covered their eyes.
“My legions do not sound particularly accustomed to this.”
The silver-haired Demon in black robes appeared behind Beili, his words pointed.
As for the legions he mentioned…
Oh, yes. Our Demon Lord, ranked twenty-ninth, commanded forty legions of Hell.
But because of his sloth and indolence, the legions had all been left to roam freely. They were no different from wandering ghosts.
The corner of Beili’s mouth twitched. She raised a hand and, while she was at it, wrapped every evil spirit and dead soul in the territory in gray bandages that could not be removed.
“Rather than offend my eyes, they had better work hard to adapt.”
The Demon Lord did not object. Chuckling, he raised his pale fingertips and stroked her face.
Hell had never been so bright.
Although the brightness was confined to Ashera’s territory, the unusual sight still alarmed the other Demons in Hell.
In only a few moments, Beili sensed dense, evil, and immensely powerful auras appearing throughout the territory one after another.
Most stopped at the outskirts to watch, while the rest approached their location.
At the same time…
A spatial rift appeared behind them.
Beili turned just in time to see a certain Demon apparently preparing to crawl out of the rift. Then the luminous butterfly dazzled his eyes. He went still for a moment and retreated behind the rift again.
“Ashera, what are you doing?”
Are you trying to blind every Demon here?
Beili could hear the unspoken question in the other party’s hostile tone.
“Ah, ah…”
Ashera spread his hands. “My apologies. I did not mean to frighten all of you.”
“This is only a little trick of my little butterfly.” He sighed, unmistakable indulgence in his voice. “She said she prefers a brighter environment.”
Now that he had sensed all the Demons gathering, Ashera showed none of his earlier anxiety. Smiling, he drew Beili gently into his arms and changed the subject.
“But Beelzebub, your timing is perfect. We are planning a wedding—a grand one.”
He emphasized the final three words with a smile.
After Ashera finished speaking, Beili heard an uproar.
It was an astonishing scene.
Aside from the Demon called Beelzebub hiding in the rift behind her, not a single Demon appeared in her field of vision. And yet Beili felt as though she were standing in the middle of a heated debate.
For a time, the surroundings were deafeningly noisy.
Clearly, all seventy-one Demons had been provoked and were voicing their complaints at once.
Beili was about to speak up for Ashera, but he gently stroked her face in silent indication.
Beili understood at once.
There had been no war between Hell and Heaven, or between Gods and Demons, for a very long time.
The two sides avoided contact whenever possible and did not trespass on each other’s domain.
Heaven and Hell also had profound cultural differences. Other than Ashera, Beili had no intention of interacting much with any other Demon.
It was best to let him handle this himself.
And so, as the person who had caused all this, she manifested the gray feathers that covered her eyes, remained behind the Demon Lord, and kept silent.
Meanwhile…
Ashera listened to the curses rising one after another with his golden eyes lowered. Only when the noise subsided somewhat did he speak at an unhurried pace.
“Everyone has misunderstood. I had no intention of inviting you. It is simply that, on the day of the wedding, a few guests from Heaven may appear in my territory…”
Before he could finish, the noisy territory sank into deathly silence.
“I only hope that when the time comes, all of you will remain where you belong.” His cold, thin lips curved faintly. “You absolutely must not enter my territory uninvited…”
“…”
It grew even quieter.
Beili noticed the Demon called Beelzebub behind her go rigid when he heard the word ‘Heaven.’
“Wait…”
Shielding his eyes, he poked his head out from behind the rift.
“Since this matter involves Heaven, it is not something you can decide on your own.”
Beili looked at Ashera. He silently shifted his golden gaze to the left, a smile still fixed on his pale, handsome face.
Without waiting for Ashera’s answer, the Demon behind the rift threw out a final declaration.
“We need to call a gathering of the lords and discuss this matter. Immediately!”
Then all the Demons disappeared.
Two seconds later, the rift behind them opened again.
Beelzebub reappeared to remind him, “Ashera, this gathering concerns you. You absolutely cannot be absent.”
Before long…
Beili soon had a magnificent wedding in Hell.
Unlike her wedding in the mortal world…
Golden light tore open a spatial rift above the left side of the venue, revealing the Gods gathered in Heaven in their child forms.
On the right side of the venue was a spatial rift torn open by black light.
Beyond the rift sat all seventy-one Demons, a dark mass in every conceivable posture.
The two factions studied one another from across the intervening space. Beneath the quiet, harmonious atmosphere ran an unmistakable current of hostility.
The evil spirits floating through the air scattered gray petals.
Although a wedding was the sort of thing that became easier the second time, Beili, caught between the gazes of both sides as she walked step by step toward Ashera, suddenly felt crushed by the pressure.
Her grip tightened unconsciously around the bouquet of interwoven black and gray flowers in her hands.
“I truly cannot understand why you insisted on making this happen…”
She encrypted her voice, encrypted it again, then encrypted it a third time before sending the message to the Demon Lord with her divine power.
“I cannot sense the slightest blessing from them. To be honest, I am a little nervous and worried.”
She was worried that one wrong word between the two sides would trigger an enormous melee.
Such an outcome was entirely possible.
“We do not need their blessing, my dear. I only need them to bear witness.”
“Every one of them must know about this…”
Ashera took her hand. The corner of his lips curled as he gave her a sidelong, smiling glance and spoke in a tone of possessive declaration.
“No one can ever separate us again. Not even fate.”
“Because we are destined for one another, born to be together.”
With that, the Demon Lord lifted the bride’s delicate black veil, lowered his gaze, and kissed her.
