Chapter 64

As soon as the boy finished speaking, Beili heard the sound of footsteps.

Two figures gradually became clear in the darkness: Cyril, who had undergone Beast Transformation into a Black Panther, and Lance, who had transformed into a fox.

Beili and the boy both fell silent at the same time, speaking no more.

As the Black Panther and the fox approached the fire, they shifted back into their human forms in the blink of an eye.

Cyril scanned the few people who had woken up, then turned around to set something up in a nearby clearing.

When Beili looked over again, she discovered two interconnected tents had appeared there.

The tents were decorated with red-gold trim depicting the lines of roses, which shimmered with thin threads of light under the orange glow of the fire.

But…

Beili was shocked, her jaw nearly hitting the ground.

She snapped her mouth shut and couldn’t help but ask, “Prince Cyril, how do you have tents?”

“Hunters are allowed to bring one item, didn’t you know?” Cyril asked back.

“I knew that… but why tents?”

Usually, people would bring weapons or other magical items… anyway, it should be something useful for winning the event, right?

Cyril’s voice lacked warmth as he said flatly, “Because I don’t want to sleep on the damp ground when I rest, in case it rains during the Hunt Feast.”

Because he didn’t want to get rained on while resting, he chose to use the only Item Slot in his Magic Pendant… for tents?

That was a truly bold and extravagant idea…

“It seems the closing Hunt Banquet is no different from a camping trip in Your Highness’s eyes…”

Beili marveled, her horizons truly broadened.

“Yes.”

Turning back, Cyril’s cold purple eyes slowly swept over everyone in the team. He said in a low voice, “But I was mistaken.”

Before entering the closing Hunt Banquet, Cyril thought the team members would only consist of himself, Lance, Susanna, Bartholomew, and the commoner Bartholomew wanted to help, Lisa-five people in total.

Based on that consideration, his original plan for the tent distribution was for him and Lance to share one, while the remaining three would squeeze into the other.

Thus, Cyril had someone connect two tents together and brought them into the grounds as a single item.

But now there were two more people.

“It seems I should have brought three tents. One for Lance and me, one for you and Susanna, and one for the two commoner girls…”

Cyril raised a brow slightly, his index finger sliding through the air as he counted them off one by one, finally stopping on the boy who was smiling with his eyes closed.

His fingertip paused in the air for a moment before he said tonelessly, “As for the remaining one… let him sleep on the grass.”

The corners of the boy’s mouth curled up unconsciously.

After tilting his head to listen to Cyril, he stammered, “Th-thank you, Your Highness, for… for considering me… cough… I really d-don’t need a tent.”

On the other side.

Beili was still staring at the two tents with a face full of shock.

“So… Your Highness’s plan is to lead us to victory using two tents?”

Huh?

Was he kidding?

Her face crumpled in disbelief.

“I am well aware of the others’ strength.”

Cyril’s lips thinned into a straight line as he said without emotion, “Furthermore, since you chose to sign a contract with me, you should have some understanding of my abilities.”

“If you didn’t, you had the chance to see the gap between me and the others with your own eyes during the past five days of the Holy Island Competition,” he added.

Beili silently shut her mouth.

At this moment, Lance leaned over and explained for Cyril, “Luoluo, don’t look down on these tents. They are extremely expensive.”
With that, Lance gave the expensive tent a light kick.

The door flap fluttered as it fell.

The outlines of the two tents pulsed with a faint ripple of Mana before vanishing from the ground.

“An invisible… tent?”

Beili marveled, her horizons once again expanded.

“Mm-hmm… It functions just like your Invisibility Cloak, Luoluo.”

Lance’s brow arched slightly as he continued with a hint of pride in his voice, “However, stealth items like this are practically unheard of in our Tilisha Kingdom, as most of our people are born with powerful sensory and detection abilities.”

Beili blinked, following the topic. “Prince Lance, then what kind of magical items do you keep in your Item Slot?”

“Naturally…”

Lance offered a slight smile.

He then produced a large platter. On it lay a whole sheep-skinned, gutted, cleaned, and already marinated to perfection.

“Gourmet food,” he said slowly.

“…”

Beili fell silent.

Lance let out a soft chuckle, his narrow fox-like eyes curving as he turned to look at Cyril.

“Cyril, you brought the tents and I brought the food. It seems we roommates are perfectly in sync!” Lance laughed.

“You brought raw mutton…”

Cyril gazed down at the platter of raw meat, asking expressionlessly, “Then who here… knows how to roast a sheep?”

It was glaringly obvious that the noble Cyril and the equally noble Prince Lance were not about to personally roast mutton.

Setting aside whether they possessed basic culinary knowledge or how the result would taste, the mere thought of the greasy smoke clinging to their clothes and hair was enough to make it unacceptable to them.

Even if they could use Mana to clean themselves afterward… it was still unacceptable.

Thus, as the words left Cyril’s mouth, both he and Lance turned in unison, their gazes slowly sweeping over the others present.

Unlike these noble students who were served every meal by attendants, Beili did know how to cook.

However, the dishes she produced were strictly for maintaining vital signs. They were nowhere near the level of being delicious.

In short, if she roasted it, it would definitely be roasted right back by their critiques.

Beili possessed a great deal of self-awareness in this moment-she tilted her head back to look at the sky, refusing to meet their eyes.

Cyril cast a subtle glance at the commoner named Lisa.

In Cyril’s view, Lisa seemed the most appropriate candidate to take on the task of roasting the sheep. However, she was currently receiving treatment from Susanna, which wouldn’t be finished anytime soon.

Seeing the original novel’s male lead and third male lead at a total loss over a platter of raw mutton, Beili sighed inwardly. Just as she was about to open her mouth to say, “I’ll do it,” a voice suddenly cut her off.

“I-I’ll do it…”

Upon hearing someone in the group volunteer, Lance’s obsidian-black eyes instantly lit up.

But when he realized the volunteer was the blind youth, his expression turned hesitant.

“In your… condition, can you really do it?” Lance asked.

The youth’s lips curled into a faint smile, his voice weak but firm.

“I can.”

Seeing the boy suddenly step forward without warning, Beili’s eyelid twitched.

It was fine when this guy was quiet and kept to himself, but whenever he took the initiative to speak, Beili had a strong premonition-he was definitely planning some kind of mischief.

She had to keep him under strict surveillance the entire time.

Thus, Beili stood up as well and said, “I’ll help him.”
