The Celibate Male Lead Broke His Persona - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
That day, Xu Sinian spent the entire evening chatting with Huo Zhui.
Usually, Huo Zhui was always rather cool toward him, but today he was surprisingly cooperative, answering every question Xu Sinian asked.
The more they talked, the happier Xu Sinian became, and he drank quite a bit from the glass in his hand.
I reminded him, “Don’t drink too much. You can’t hold your liquor, and drinking too much is bad for your health.”
Xu Sinian waved me off, a hint of complaint in his voice. “All right, all right, I know. You’re so naggy.”
I smiled, helpless and indulgent all at once.
Huo Zhui saw it all.
His gaze slowly darkened.
From beside him came the low murmurs of two people talking under their breath:
“President Liao is ice-cold to everyone, but he only smiles at Xu Sinian. I’m so jealous.”
“Look at President Liao. He’s the very picture of a classic Eastern beauty, and his family background and abilities are top-notch. What kind of person couldn’t he get? But he just has to be so devoted to Xu Sinian. And Xu Sinian? He can’t even be bothered to say a few extra words to him.”
“President Liao has really kept himself untouched for Xu Sinian. Do you know how many people want to climb into his bed? But him? He hasn’t touched anyone all these years.”
Huo Zhui suddenly thought of Liao Qing from last night.
That abstinent black shirt, the buttons fastened all the way to the top.
In truth, he had heard plenty about Liao Qing before.
Rumor had it that Liao Qing spoiled Xu Sinian rotten, yet had never dared to make a move.
He would rather drive himself insane than lay a finger on him.
He was too calm, too restrained.
But the more someone was like that, the more it made others want to peel away his outer layer and challenge his limits.
The more restrained he was, the more people longed to witness the moment he fell apart.
Huo Zhui had always been curious about this man.
Until last night, when he ran into Liao Qing drunk.
He knew his chance had come.
So he took the initiative and went over to help him.
Even dead drunk, Liao Qing still said, “I have to go home.”
Huo Zhui found it amusing.
“In your state, you wouldn’t even make it through your own front door.”
Liao Qing looked at him blankly, showing a rare trace of grievance and vulnerability.
“That’s right. You won’t even let me through your door.
“You know full well that as long as you don’t want it, I would never do anything to you.”
The conversation came out of nowhere, but Huo Zhui understood immediately.
Liao Qing was drunk.
He seemed to have mistaken Huo Zhui for someone else.
For the person he liked.
But that didn’t matter.
Huo Zhui coaxed him in the gentlest voice.
“Who said that? I’ll let you in.”
“Then what about your door? Can I go in?”
Drunk Liao Qing was so very, very obedient.
He said, “You can.”
Huo Zhui smiled.
He thought,
A pure-minded Liao Qing probably didn’t understand.
The door Huo Zhui meant
was the back door.
And a home’s front door and the back door
were not the same thing.
