The housekeeper finished cooking several dishes I could eat and brought them to the table.

Huo Zhui picked up a piece of sweet-and-sour spare ribs and placed it in my bowl. Then he said, “Be good. Eat more.”

He gave me a meaningful smile.

A shiver suddenly ran through me.

The night before last, in bed, he’d said the exact same thing to me.

Huo Zhui looked at me. “Liao Qing, can I call you that?”

I was silent for a moment. “You can.”

Huo Zhui smiled. “Liao Qing, courtesy should go both ways. I picked up food for you, so can you pour me a glass of wine?”

I didn’t move.

Xu Sinian quickly stood up and said, “Brother Huo, I’ll pour it for you.”

Huo Zhui said, “No need.”

He looked at me. “Didn’t you say you wanted to mend our relationship? Pour me a glass of wine, and we’ll call it even.”

Xu Sinian said to me, “Liao Qing, just pour him a glass.

“Didn’t you promise me you’d communicate properly with him and stop getting angry for no reason?”

As the second male lead, I couldn’t refuse him.

So I had no choice but to stand up and pour Huo Zhui a glass of wine.

On the surface, he was smiling like a warm spring breeze.

But under the table, his actions were getting more and more outrageous.

The tip of his foot hooked along my calf, sliding slowly upward, brushing against me lightly.

I came from a smut novel to begin with, so my body was far more sensitive than most people’s.

I couldn’t take it anymore. “Enough!”

Because my hand shook while I was pouring the wine, the red wine spilled all over him.

Xu Sinian was so startled he covered his mouth.

Huo Zhui merely smiled at me.

Xu Sinian snapped back to his senses and hurriedly grabbed some napkins to wipe Huo Zhui’s clothes.

He sounded a little angry. “Liao Qing, what are you doing? You got Brother Huo’s clothes all wet.”

Huo Zhui smiled innocently. “It’s fine. Can I take a shower here?”

Xu Sinian’s eyes lit up. “Of course!”

In a rather good mood, Huo Zhui went off to shower.

I rubbed my brow and asked my assistant to deliver a change of clothes.

I was just about to have Xu Sinian take the clothes in for Huo Zhui, so they could nurture their relationship a little.

Then Huo Zhui suddenly called from the bathroom, “Liao Qing, can you bring the clothes in for me?”

With no other choice, I opened the door a crack and carefully reached my hand inside.

I didn’t expect Huo Zhui to reach out and drag me in.

Carried by the momentum, I crashed straight into his arms.

It hurt.

His abs were so hard. So firm.

Hot water sprayed over me, soaking my clothes as well.

In a panic, I shoved him away, only to be confronted head-on by his astonishing physique and impressive assets.

I nearly started drooling.

I shot back, “I didn’t feel good at all.”

But Huo Zhui smiled. “Really? The night before last, you were enjoying it so much you drooled.”

I lowered my voice. “Are you insane? This is Xu Sinian’s house!”

Huo Zhui laughed out loud. “You call it his house, but didn’t you buy it for him?

“Tell me, what are you even after? You’re good to him, but he’s never once taken you to heart.

“You know that, don’t you? He likes me. And toward you, all he does is use you.”

I pushed him away. “My business is none of yours.

“As long as he can stay by my side, that’s enough. You don’t need to worry about me.

“The night before last was an accident. I was drunk. Don’t bring it up again.”

Flustered, I hurried out of the bathroom.

When Xu Sinian saw me, he froze. “Why are your clothes wet?”

I looked away. “I… did it by accident.

“Sinian, my clothes are soaked. Can I borrow some of yours?”

Xu Sinian hesitated for a moment before reluctantly saying, “Fine. But remember to give them back.”
