Summary
I am Commandery Princess Hongzhu of the Dayin dynasty, the only noblewoman in its history whose blood is half that of a spirit. As they say, a human comes from a human mother, and a spirit comes from a spirit mother. I was born half-spirit because my mother is a full-fledged spirit, every last bit of her. My father had been married to her for eighteen years without realizing it. They had married young and loved each other without a trace of doubt, spending their days being sickeningly affectionate right in front of me. Growing up with that gave me plenty of confidence. I thought I could be like Mother: keep my origins a secret and still enjoy a loving, harmonious marriage. What I never expected was that the civil official the emperor chose for me had another identity—the most powerful spirit hunter in all of Dayin. He schemed to make me fall for him, then drove a sword through my heart, his face full of contempt. “However noble your rank, Princess Hongzhu, you still coupled with me outdoors in broad daylight. Foxes really are born sluts. Now that I have your spirit core, I can use it to sharpen Evil-Slayer’s blade.”
