Summary
Chapter 0 I accompanied the prefect’s daughter to the temple to burn incense. She prayed for wealth; I prayed for marriage. I said, “This faithful woman is willing to trade ten years of the young lady’s single life for a model husband with eight-pack abs, a gorgeous voice, eyes only for me, no concubines, who does all the housework, grants my every wish, would marry no one but me, and would even help me usurp the throne and chop down the emperor if I asked!” That night, I had a dream. The Bodhisattva sat with one leg crossed over the other and said, “Granted.” The next day, when the young lady threw her embroidered ball, it hit a beggar. So I married him in her place.
