The Vicious Scholarship Student at the Elite Academy Got What He Deserved - Chapter 3
Yan Mingqing mistook my silence for hesitation.
He patted the top of my head. “It’s all right. I promise I’ll find him for you.”
“You only need to tell me what he looked like.”
I gave Yan Mingqing a grateful glance and immediately sank back into my memories of the encounter.
I never noticed the darkness that flickered through the eyes of the proud, noble young man before me.
“Mm. I’ll check the records room.”
Yan Mingqing handed me a cup of hot water. I accepted it gratefully.
Looking at the tall, handsome alpha in front of me, I felt a faint stab of guilt. But the moment I remembered what alphas were really like, it vanished.
“Thank you.”
Yan Mingqing paused, the amusement in his eyes deepening. He reached out and stroked my hair.
“It’s nothing. If he contacts you again, come to me first.”
“Now, move a little closer.”
I did not understand.
Smiling, Yan Mingqing pointed at the corner of his own mouth.
“Your lip is split. Let me put some medicine on it.”
My face flushed as I hurriedly took out my phone. Sure enough, there was a small bite mark.
That pervert!
After cursing him, I leaned closer and obediently let Yan Mingqing apply the ointment.
His nose was high and straight, his eyes beautiful. Dark irises focused entirely on me as his fingers moved with exquisite care.
Earnest. Gentle.
Like a calm river flowing without end.
He was nothing like the alpha he had been during those days of rut.
Could rut truly change an alpha that much?
“Come back to me.”
Once he had treated the wound, Yan Mingqing waved a hand lightly in front of my eyes.
“Are you hurt anywhere else?”
I shook my head.
He put away the medicine, then said abruptly, “I’m looking for someone too.”
“Who?”
The moment I asked, dread prickled through me.
Sure enough, Yan Mingqing said, “A few days ago, during my rut, someone broke into my room.”
My heart lurched and cold sweat ran down my back. “Do you know who it was, President?”
“No.” His eyes grew distant. “I lost control. I can’t remember what the person looked like.”
I breathed a sigh of relief.
Then I deliberately led him astray. “It was probably an omega.”
Yan Mingqing raised a brow. “Perhaps.”
Then he changed direction without warning. “Come to think of it, he seemed about your height.”
My palm clenched tight, but I kept smiling. “Really? There are plenty of boys at school who are five foot ten.”
“True.” Yan Mingqing looked away. “Does your class have evening study tonight?”
This conversation had to end before I gave myself away.
I shook my head and set down the cup. “Thank you, President. I should go.”
“I’ll walk you back,” Yan Mingqing said.
I waved both hands frantically. “No need. I’m going now.”
Consumed by guilt, I thought only of escaping.
I never noticed how shadowed Yan Mingqing’s gaze became behind me.
He picked up the cup I had just set down. Pressing his lips to the damp rim, the alpha drank every drop of water inside.
