Chapter 3

“Teacher, I think my hair clip fell somewhere on the road. Could you help me look for it?”

I looked up at her with the most pitiful eyes I could manage.

“No problem. I’ll go right now!”

After the teacher left, I smiled smugly.

Heh heh heh. Your king has arrived. Come forth and welcome me!

I walked to the center of the podium, put on a solemn face, and coughed twice. Every eye in the room turned toward me.

“Do you want to rule the world?”

Kids were curious by nature. The classroom instantly fell silent.

Even the Mini Playboy abandoned his little fishies and ran over.

His eyes were shining.

“Rule the world? Really?”

“Of course!”

This poor bunch of protagonists had no idea their fates had already been arranged.

“Do you know what novels are?”

“The truth is, this world is one huge novel. You are all male leads, female leads, villains, or cannon fodder whose destinies have been arranged. No matter what you do, you can’t fight the Heavenly Dao!”

I pointed at the well-behaved daughter of the richest family sitting in the corner.

“You are the heiress to the richest family, with a fortune beyond measure. But for the sake of one poor boy, you invite a wolf into your home and bankrupt your own family. After that poor boy rises to power, he takes revenge on you by imprisoning you, digging out your eyes, and cutting out your kidney!”

The heiress stared in disbelief.

What! Her family was actually going to go bankrupt, and she was going to have her eyes and kidney taken out!

Did that mean she would never get to wear pretty little dresses again, or wear big diamonds, or watch cartoons!

Trembling, she asked, “And then?”

“Then, in the ending, you forgive him. The two of you get married and even have a pair of twins!”

She broke down. She covered her face with both hands, and tears poured through the gaps between her fingers.

She didn’t want to go bankrupt! She didn’t want to be the female lead!

“You are the vicious supporting female character…”

“You are the final boss who turns evil after failing to get the one you love…”

…

Everyone learned their own fate. What a pitiful group of people.

We were all miserable souls cast adrift in the same cruel world. Why ask whether we had met before?

Sigh. I had been so close. Just a little more, just the tiniest bit more, and I could have killed the male lead!

That despicable bastard-no, that despicable Heavenly Dao-couldn’t handle losing, so it just struck me dead!

Right before I died, it even made a point of saying, “You are merely a stepping stone for the male and female leads’ ascension. Stop struggling pointlessly!”

Screw your stepping stone! Your whole family are stepping stones! You’re the one who deserves to die!

“Are you willing to be manipulated by others?”

With righteous passion, I described the cruelty of the world to this group of protagonists.

They shouted, “We’re not willing!”

“You know so much. Do you have a way to help us escape our fate?”

The group of children looked at me with shining eyes, as if I were their savior in this very moment.

I coughed lightly twice, kicked off with both feet, climbed onto a desk, and patted my own chest.

“Actually, I was originally a cultivator. You know cultivation, right? The kind where you hold a sword and go whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.”

“But then I was harmed by a villain and ended up here. I think this must be fate. I was sent here to save you!”

I analyzed everything for them with perfect logic, and before long, we had drawn up a resistance plan.

Step one of the resistance: escape the kindergarten.

It was definitely not because I had selfish motives and didn’t want to go to school!

“Brothers and sisters, let us escape!”

The children raised their chubby little hands in response. “Okay, Boss!”

That’s right. In less than half a day, I had already become their boss.

As expected of me. My charisma was truly powerful.

When the teacher returned, her world collapsed.

The entire classroom was empty.

Life was long, but she had already seen the end of hers.
