Ao Yi came in shortly afterward.

I was already seated. Tilting my face up at him, I asked, “Young Master Yi, is there anything you’re lacking here?”

“Thank you for your concern. I have everything I need.”

“I’m glad.” I patted the seat beside me. “Come, sit.”

Ao Yi sat down.

I poured him a cup of tea. As he reached for it, I said, “Young Master Yi, you’re very unusual.”

His hand paused. Pretending not to notice, I nudged the warm cup closer. “No one ever seems able to see you clearly.”

Ao Yi accepted the tea. I braced one hand on the table and leaned toward him. “May I come a little closer and look?”

The distance between us vanished. Breathing in his cool fragrance and thinking of all the treasures I could wring from this dragon, I wanted nothing more than to devour him on the spot.

But my eyes had to remain pure. Innocent. Entirely free of wicked intentions.

All was quiet save for the whisper of the breeze.

Surely this was a heart-stirring moment.

The floating comments appeared again.

[Damn, no wonder she’s the scheming villainess. She’s so good at this! Of course the male lead was wrapped around her finger.]

[If a gorgeous, soft, sweet-smelling beauty put this much effort into seducing me, I’d be hooked already.]

[What are you waiting for, boss? Kiss her! Take her hard!]

Ao Yi merely looked at me coldly. “Have you seen enough?”

What a cold, heartless man.

I hated clever men who could not be coaxed or cajoled.

Swallowing my displeasure, I sat back as though nothing had happened. “I have.”

I had sensed danger from him just now. I had no doubt that if I said one more reckless thing, he might leave me without an intact corpse.

I poured myself some tea and fumed inwardly. Just wait until the drug took effect. I would make him pay for this.

[I’m dying. The villainess is still waiting for the drug to work. She has no idea it’s useless on dragons.]

[Great. Now she’s failed to seduce both the male lead and the boss.]

[Serves her right for plotting something so rotten!]

I went rigid. The drug did not work on dragons?

[It’s not completely useless. The boss is already in mating season, so the drug should affect him a little. Maybe he’ll throw her out soon and go soak in the cold spring.]

I had barely finished reading when Ao Yi told me to leave.

[Here we go! It must be affecting him!]

[Go get him, villainess! Keep him in bed for three days and nights!]

Pretending not to see the comments, I took my leave.

Please. Ao Yi still had his wits about him. I was not foolish enough to seduce him now. I would wait until he could endure it no longer.

Then one crook of my finger would bring him to his knees.

And I would not let him have his way too easily. He would have to beg me properly first.
