Summary
After a hundred hungry years in the barren mountains, black rat snake Wu Zhuzhu hears that Prince Xuan Lin’s pampered white snake has vanished. She coats her black scales in wax, passes herself off as his missing pet, and expects nothing more than roast chicken and luxury. Instead, she becomes his unlikely cure, advances her cultivation by absorbing his overflowing power, and falls hopelessly in love. Between bitter melon, battlefield snake defections, an inconvenient original white snake, and a marriage alliance, Zhuzhu must learn to take human form—and decide whether a snake and a prince can truly share a life.
