Wen Tan had propped up his upper body, leaving a broad expanse of cool, pale chest exposed.

Droplets slid down his long neck, pooled in his collarbones, and traced his lean, strong chest. Below, I could just make out the taut, sensual lines of his waist and abdomen.

Farther down, a serpent’s tail covered in cold scales lay submerged in the water.

He had always been fully dressed around me.

Only now did I discover how enticing his body was.

Thinking of what he had done last night while looking like this made my face burn. Then my nose suddenly felt warm.

Was that a nosebleed?

I hastily covered my nose and turned to leave.

【Why’s she covering her nose? Does he really smell? Wait, no. The book says he has a faint woody scent, not a fishy one.】

【Maybe his snake tail disgusts her, and that’s why she’s bolting?】

“Wen Yan. Why are you running?”

I clutched at that lifeline, wiped away the blood, and turned back.

“I don’t think you’re disgusting. And I don’t want to throw up.”

“I only left so quickly because I didn’t want to disturb your bath. If you don’t mind, we could… bathe together?”

I forced myself to approach.

I had taken off my underclothes before coming to bathe. Beneath my outer robe, only a thin nightdress clung to my skin.

Wen Tan stared at me, stunned. I gritted my teeth and stepped straight into the tub.

Amid the steam, I sat on his lap, buried my face against his neck, and breathed in deeply.

“Husband, you smell so good.”

After saying that, I watched his darkness level closely.

The steam was too thick to see his expression. All I could feel was how rigid his body had become.

Wen Tan closed his eyes. When he opened them, they were clear again.

I looked at him nervously, carefully looped my arms around his neck, and softened my voice.

“I was wrong before. Could you please let it go?”

He shut his eyes and seemed unmoved.

But the comments announced:

Instantly encouraged, I shifted my hips a little.

“Please don’t be angry?”

He refused to answer. His tail, however, rubbed against me, its cold touch teasing every inch of my skin.

“I don’t dislike your tail either. I think it’s adorable.”

I reached for its tip.

【Babe, you’re being reckless! You can’t just touch the tip of a snake’s tail!】

Sure enough, his eyes flew open, scarlet, and his tail wound tightly around me.

“Wen Yan. What exactly are you trying to do?”

I didn’t know what I was trying to do. I just didn’t want to be locked in his study!
