Summary
Tao Ying, a reserved university lecturer, wants nothing to do with Qin Zheng, the intimidating owner of the flashy auto shop across from campus. She has heard every rumor about his wealthy friends and careless love life. Then a flat tire and an injured ankle force her to accept his help—and a series of practical complications leaves two near-strangers sharing a home. Behind Qin Zheng’s frosty expression and grease-streaked coveralls, Tao Ying discovers a quietly capable man who cooks, remembers every small kindness, and seems far more interested in her than he lets on. As awkward house rules give way to shared meals, blind dates, family pressure, and everyday companionship, the distance between them begins to disappear. But trusting each other means confronting old grief, stubborn prejudice, and the question neither can avoid: is their convenient cohabitation only temporary, or the beginning of something real?
