After Clearing the Infinite Flow, I Tamed the Mad Dog Boss - Chapter 30
Chapter 30
The moment the announcement ended, the entire teaching building erupted into chaos. Screams rose and fell from every direction-whether the students were breaking down or simply venting, it was hard to tell.
Qin Xian pulled back the step he had just taken, turned around, and shouted into the classroom, “Stay inside! Lock the doors and barricade them! But make sure you leave yourselves an escape route. Keep quiet and don’t make a sound.”
Xu Zimo immediately led the others into action. They shut and locked the front and back doors, secured the windows, then found places to hide. Some crouched beneath the wall under the windows, while others hid behind or beside the lectern.
Standing outside the classroom, Qin Xian took out his switchblade and flicked his wrist, snapping the blade open.
A whistle sounded beside him. The Student Council president was leaning against the wall with his arms folded, looking perfectly relaxed. Faced with such a chaotic and terrifying scene, he showed no reaction at all. His gaze remained fixed on Qin Xian the entire time.
Unlike him, the other members were clearly caught off guard. They looked at him in panic and asked, “P-President… do we have to participate too? Are the monsters going to hunt us too?”
The president tugged at the strange black-and-red armband on his shoulder. “With this, the monsters won’t attack us.”
Then he smiled maliciously. “Just don’t let anyone take it from you.”
His voice was noticeably louder than before. A good number of students in the nearby classrooms had probably heard him.
The Student Council member immediately clutched his armband and arm nervously.
Qin Xian stared at the president. From the look on his face, he had clearly done it on purpose.
Vile. Of unknown origin. Qin Xian hated people like him.
Knife in hand, Qin Xian walked toward the stairs. The other party immediately followed with his people.
As Qin Xian went downstairs, he kept calling out to students still running around outside the classrooms, telling them to get inside and hide at once. Though some disobedient students still came out to look around, most of them didn’t dare move recklessly and stayed hidden inside the teaching building instead of rushing out.
The Student Council president chuckled beside him. “You really do think you’re a teacher, don’t you?”
When they reached the first floor, Qin Xian suddenly stopped.
The president asked, “Why did you stop?”
Screams came from upstairs. They had seen something too.
Qin Xian tightened his grip on the switchblade and stared at the giant Spider Monster crawling out of a nearby flower bed. It looked somewhat like an upgraded version of the security guard. On top was an enormous skull, its cranium split open to reveal a huge mouth from which several tongues protruded.
Now, that head was much harder to deal with as a weak point, because it was covered in a thick layer of mucus.
The Spider Monster’s lower body was a black spider. Its round abdomen was covered in sharp bristles, and something seemed to be brewing in the raised rear of its body.
Qin Xian immediately dodged to the side. A very thick strand of spider silk shot out and stuck to the window of a classroom not far away.
The students still outside the classrooms screamed and rushed back in, scrambling to shut the windows and doors. For a moment, the entire teaching building grew a little quieter as the students hid inside, not daring to make a sound.
Qin Xian shouted one last time at the teaching building, “Keep quiet! Stay in your classrooms and don’t run around!”
No sooner had he spoken than the Spider Monster raised two hind legs, grabbed the silk thread, and yanked hard. The broad metal window frame let out a teeth-grating screech, lasted less than two seconds, and was ripped off whole.
The glass shattered instantly, spraying everywhere amid the students’ screams.
Seeing Qin Xian about to rush over and save them, the Student Council president said from the side, “Come with us, and you won’t have to worry about being eaten by this monster.”
Qin Xian ignored him completely. When he saw the Spider Monster break through the window and prepare to crawl into the classroom to hunt the students, he charged after it.
But the Spider Monster was covered in stiff bristles, and one look told him they were poisonous. Qin Xian, who had originally planned to jump onto the Spider Monster’s soft abdomen and attack its weak point, immediately hit the brakes.
He made a snap decision. Picking up the discarded window frame from the ground, he gripped it with both hands, spun once, and hurled it at the skull like a hammer throw.
With a loud clang, the window frame smashed heavily into the Spider Monster’s skull head, then slid down and landed perfectly around the area beneath the skull that could, for now, be called its “neck.”
“Screech, screech, screech!”
The Spider Monster’s charge toward the teaching building was instantly cut short. It leaped up in a fury, trying to shake off the thing around its neck.
But while a spider’s eight legs were perfect for nimble footwork, they were useless for removing a window frame from its own neck. Its legs simply couldn’t bend upward that way.
It flailed its two forelegs desperately in the air, but no matter what, it couldn’t reach. The sight was especially ridiculous.
“Hahahahaha.”
See? Someone had already burst out laughing.
The Spider Monster whipped its head around in rage, only to discover that the one laughing was the Student Council president wearing an armband-someone it couldn’t attack.
But the real culprit was standing right beside him.
With a shriek, the Spider Monster turned and drove its forelegs viciously at Qin Xian.
Qin Xian caught sight of the spider’s movement, curled his lips into a smile, and rushed straight toward the Student Council president. The president’s smile paused for a beat, but then he seemed to laugh even more happily.
The spider’s legs pursued Qin Xian from behind, stabbing toward the hollow of his back. But just as he was about to be pierced through, Qin Xian grabbed the Student Council president by the shoulder, swung him around, and swapped places with him.
The spider leg stopped just short of the president’s head, barely avoiding bursting his brain open.
The president lightly pushed the spider leg away, tilted his head, and complained to Qin Xian, “How cruel. Using me as a human shield? I’m a student, a flower of the nation. Aren’t you supposed to protect me?”
“Heh.” Qin Xian felt like he’d just heard a joke. “You’re a student? I’m guessing you’re not even human.”
Across from them, the Spider Monster let out an enraged scream at the sight. But with Qin Xian holding a game-breaking shield in his hands, it had no way to attack.
Its exposed brain struggled to think for a while. There was only one piece of food on Qin Xian’s side, while the building nearby was packed full of easier little snacks. The spider immediately turned around and kept rushing toward the teaching building.
Qin Xian yanked the president along by the collar with one hand, chased after it with a switchblade in the other, and stabbed the knife into one of the spider leg joints.
This human-why was he so damn annoying?!
The Spider Monster staggered in pain. Left with no choice, it turned back again, its skull’s hollow black eye sockets fixed on Qin Xian.
After another difficult round of thinking with its rotten brain, it finally came up with a good idea.
If it wanted to attack Qin Xian, it had to get rid of the human-shaped shield in his hand first.
As Qin Xian attacked its second leg, the spider sprayed another mass of silk from its rear. Qin Xian instinctively moved to dodge, only to realize the silk wasn’t aimed at him, but at the Student Council president in his grip.
The president didn’t move at all. The spider silk struck him directly in the legs. After being glued to the ground, he even smiled at Qin Xian. “Uh-oh. Looks like your shield is gone.”
What an infuriating bastard.
Seeing spider legs strike at him from several directions, Qin Xian had no choice but to leave the president behind and dodge the attacks. When the spider saw its legs couldn’t skewer him, it switched to a wide-range attack, launching the venomous bristles on its body directly outward. They shot toward Qin Xian in a dense, overwhelming barrage.
Qin Xian sprinted toward the notice board in front of the teaching building, but there was a good chance he’d be hit before he reached it.
Just then, a moving blackboard burst out from the garden. The moment Qin Xian saw it, he changed direction and rushed behind the blackboard.
The bristles thunked into the blackboard one after another. A few even pierced a little way through, their venom-seeping tips poking out on the other side.
There was another person hiding behind the blackboard as well-a young man around thirty.
Qin Xian nodded to him. “Thank you. Are you a police officer?”
The man replied, “Yes. My surname is Zhang. I only came in this morning. My assigned identity is a maintenance worker.”
Then it looked like he’d gotten the blackboard from some storage room.
Qin Xian glanced at the blackboard beside him, but in the next second, a powerful dragging force made Officer Zhang lose his grip, and the blackboard flew straight away.
A strand of spider silk was stuck to the back of it.
Having stripped away their defense, the spider proudly clacked its forelegs together and roared down at them from above. Then, in the next second, several soft pfft, pfft, pfft sounds rang out. The spider immediately screamed, flailing its legs and retreating in agony.
Qin Xian turned his head. His eyes lit up, and he couldn’t help praising it. “Whoa. Nice find.”
Officer Zhang was holding up a nail gun, loaded with Type I Nails nearly a centimeter long. As soon as he pulled the trigger, the nails would spray out, though they weren’t particularly powerful.
“But it probably won’t be enough to kill it on its own,” Officer Zhang said with a frown.
Qin Xian replied, “As long as it can interfere with it, that’s enough. Can you help draw its attention for a bit?”
Officer Zhang’s hand trembled. He took a deep breath, then nodded.
“Aim for its joints, eyes, and the brain inside the skull! If it starts catching up to you, hide behind that Student Council president.”
After saying that, Qin Xian rushed off in the opposite direction from Officer Zhang.
The spider had also recovered by now. It spotted Qin Xian fleeing, but at this moment, its hatred for Officer Zhang, who had injured it, ran even deeper. It charged straight at Officer Zhang.
Qin Xian, meanwhile, tore the transparent glass panel off a notice board and slapped it directly against the Spider Monster’s bristling body.
The moment something hit its body, the monster reflexively fired a barrage of bristles, shredding the glass panel to pieces.
But Qin Xian looked at it and smiled coldly.
The bristles the Spider Monster shot out couldn’t regrow immediately. Wherever it fired a large patch of them, a large patch of its abdomen went bald. Its previously unapproachable torso was becoming somewhere he could plant his feet.
And because it was so intent on attacking the officer in front of it, it kept shooting out more bristles, not realizing that the number it could still fire was dwindling, and its round body was growing balder and balder.
Just as Officer Zhang was rolling across the ground in a sorry state and nearly at his limit, the Spider Monster prepared to deliver the final blow-only to suddenly feel something strange on its abdomen, as though something had stepped onto it.
It reflexively fired more bristles, but not only did it fail to throw off whatever was behind it, a sharp pain stabbed through its rear end.
“Squeee-squeee-squeee!!!” it shrieked, twisting its head around, only to find Qin Xian standing on its abdomen, driving a sharp stone straight into the spinneret at its tail end.
A piercing pain tore through the fragile part, and its ability to spin silk instantly failed. The only attacks it had left were its spider legs and the toothed tongues inside its skull.
Several crimson tongues whipped toward Qin Xian, but tentacle-like things were the bizarre attack method Qin Xian had encountered most often in the Infinite Flow World. He was already more than practiced at handling ordinary tentacle attacks.
First, crouch to lure the tentacles into striking downward. Then leap upward to a certain height and position, drawing the petal-like tentacles fully open so the weakest core inside would be exposed.
Qin Xian wasn’t afraid even when the tongue-tentacles blotted out the sky above him. He dropped faster than they could close in, driving his knife straight into the fragile brain.
Pull out, stab down. Pull out, stab down!
Bits of flesh and blood splattered across his face. The tongues around him spasmed from the pain, and the way he kept plunging the knife into the monster’s brain made him look like a complete psychopath.
Not far away, Officer Zhang stared with his jaw hanging open.
“Ah… he’s amazing…”
A voice suddenly sounded beside him, scaring Officer Zhang all over again. He turned his head and saw the Student Council president, still stuck to the ground, tilting his head up and gazing at Qin Xian above with infatuation.
Officer Zhang: “…”
After having its fatal weak point stabbed a dozen times, the Spider Monster soon let out a wail and collapsed twitching onto the ground.
Qin Xian jumped off its body. From every floor of the teaching building, screams and applause suddenly erupted. Qin Xian looked up and saw a crowd of curious, bold little heads poking out from the corridors. Who knew how long they had been watching?
Someone even shrieked, “Teacher Qin! I love you!!!”
Qin Xian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He turned away and ignored the students. He walked toward Officer Zhang, only to see that the Student Council president had already cleaned the spiderwebs off himself. When he saw Qin Xian approaching, he said in an infatuated tone, “Teacher Qin, what should I do? I love you so much too.”
