Still holding back the knife, the Student Council President found time to murmur suggestively, “This is the first time your face has ever been so close to mine. I really want to…”

Want to what, you *%#¥?!

Without a word, Qin Xian shifted his weight onto one leg and drove his other knee viciously between the president’s thighs.

The Student Council President tipped his head back with a muffled groan. At last, his face went white. He squeezed his eyes shut and drew shallow, pained breaths.

Now that was an expression Qin Xian found satisfying.

He smiled darkly. “Try talking dirty one more time.”

“Mm… That felt amazing.”

The Student Council President moaned. There was no anger in his voice. If anything, he sounded pleased.

Color returned to his bloodless face, turning it flushed. His gaze grew hazy as he looked at Qin Xian.

Fucking pervert.

Disgust twisted Qin Xian’s face. Seizing the opening, he forced down the knife and drove the entire blade into the president’s chest.

Black-red blood surged out. The president coughed weakly. He tried to say something, but the moment he opened his mouth, a flood of blood spilled over his lips.

Qin Xian regarded the brutal scene with nothing but cold revulsion.

He rose and walked to the window, straightening his disordered clothes.

Behind him, the man with a knife buried in his chest twisted and staggered to his feet. Bleeding heavily, he approached.

“Teacher, you’re so cruel. That really hurts.”

Qin Xian was speechless.

Of course this still was not enough to kill the bastard.

In that case…

He slid one hand behind the curtain. Earlier, he had taken a bone cleaver from the kitchen and hidden it there.

The moment the president pressed himself against Qin Xian’s back, Qin Xian drew the cleaver, spun, and hacked at his neck.

The blade sank in with a wet sound, cutting all the way to the bones of his throat.

Even more blood poured out. The entire lower half of the president’s face was covered in black-red fluid he had coughed up.

And still, the bastard smiled.

Qin Xian’s brows drew into a deep furrow. He was about to apply more force when the president suddenly raised a hand and pushed blood-soaked fingers between his lips.

The thick, nauseating taste of blood flooded Qin Xian’s mouth.

He nearly retched.

“Hahaha! I’m still too weak right now…” the Student Council President said. “See you next time…”

The strength left his body, and he collapsed.

Qin Xian spat out the bloody saliva and kicked the corpse hard.

“Lunatic.”

He sat on the bay window, opened a can of Coke, and drained it in one go. Only after forcing down the discomfort and violence in his chest did he look at the room.

The scene was horrifying.

A vast black-red stain spread across the carpet. Blood covered the walls, the furniture, and Qin Xian himself. With the motionless body on the floor, it looked exactly like the scene of a murder.

Qin Xian thought expressionlessly that if the police outside came in now, they might execute him on the spot.

So, as the killer, he still had to decide what to do with the body.

The anomaly disguised as the Student Council President was definitely not dead. His final words made that obvious.

But if he was not dead, why couldn’t the corpse have the decency to disappear on its own?

Qin Xian had killed plenty of humanoid things in the Infinite Flow World, but he had never needed to deal with the aftermath there.

Frowning, he ground his teeth. For a moment, he felt the urge to dismember the body simply to vent his anger.

But on balance, he was not quite that deranged.

Throw it out the window?

No. A student might find it. He could not inflict that kind of psychological trauma on them.

Move it to the storage closet downstairs?

If someone saw him, he would have to explain. Too much trouble.

Leaving it in his apartment was revolting, but Qin Xian had no better choice. He lifted the carpet, rolled the corpse inside, found an empty room, turned the air-conditioning to its coldest setting, and dumped the bundle there.

Then he hurried to the bathroom, pumped out a huge mound of hand soap, and repeatedly scrubbed the blood from his hands beneath the water.

“Mr. Qin! Are you in your room?”

Xun Guangfan’s knock sounded outside.

Qin Xian’s hand jerked. Water splashed across his chest, spreading the bloodstains even farther.

“Mr. Qin?”

The voice came again.

Qin Xian’s heartbeat quickened. One thought flashed through his mind.

He could not go outside covered in blood.

“I’m taking a shower. Is something urgent?” He took a deep breath and answered evenly.

“Huh? A shower? All right. Nothing’s happened yet, but we’re planning to keep watch at different points around the villa tonight. Can you help?”

“I’ll patrol outside. I won’t sleep.”

“Okay. See you in a bit.”

The footsteps gradually receded.

Qin Xian relaxed, then found himself speechless.

His reaction, combined with the identity of the person outside…

The scene was absurdly dramatic.

It was all that damned thing’s fault. If he had time, he truly wanted to chop it into pieces.

Thinking coldly, Qin Xian switched on the shower and washed himself thoroughly. When he emerged, he changed into a plain white T-shirt and black casual pants that had already been prepared in the apartment.

Only after ensuring that none of the nauseating smell of blood remained did he leave.

The corridor was quiet, though the clatter of students playing games on keyboards could still be heard downstairs.

As soon as he stepped out, he saw a familiar officer guarding the hallway nearby.

Yu Jie greeted him immediately. “Hey, Mr. Qin. Finished your shower?”

“Mm. How are the students? Anything unusual?”

“It’s only a little after nine, but twenty people have already gone back to their rooms. Five are still outside playing.”

“Did you record which ones went back recently and which ones haven’t been seen at all?”

“Yes. We knocked on every door too. Some people answered. A few were sleeping in their rooms, some were watching anime, and two girls were hanging out together in one room. But nine rooms gave us no response. Once you subtract the five students outside, the one visiting another room, and the girl who died, that leaves two silent rooms. I don’t know whether they refused to see us or were asleep. There probably hasn’t been an accident… If something happened, wouldn’t we hear it from outside?”

“No,” Qin Xian said. “I just made a tremendous amount of noise in my room. No one heard a thing. Let’s check those two.”

Yu Jie nodded and led him along the corridor.

They soon reached Room 403. Yu Jie automatically pressed his ear against the door, remembered that listening was useless, then knocked instead.

“Hello? Is someone inside? Could you come out for a moment?”

No one opened the door.

Yu Jie knocked again. “Are you there? Open up, please. We have a few questions. If you still don’t answer, we’re coming in.”

At last, movement came from within.

An irritable female voice shouted, “Are you sick in the head? Come in and I’ll chop you to death!”

“She sounds lively enough. Find the next one.”

Qin Xian turned and walked away.

Yu Jie hurried after him. As they passed each other, he gave Qin Xian a strange look.

“You smell really good… but… uh, sorry. There’s another strange smell underneath.”

“It’s nothing,” Qin Xian answered expressionlessly. “I just killed a monster.”

Yu Jie started. “What? A monster? There’s a monster in here? Then could a monster have killed that girl instead of the students killing one another?”

“No. It was the Student Council President. He isn’t human, and I don’t know why he followed me into this place. He attacked me, so I killed him.”

Yu Jie stalled for several seconds. “Th-that’s what happened? Were you hurt?”

“Only a minor injury. It doesn’t matter. Where’s the next room?”

“Ah! Right, right. We passed it. This one—Room 408.”

Yu Jie knocked again. Even after a long wait, there was no answer.

He glanced carefully at Qin Xian. “What now? Do we force our way in?”

Qin Xian said nothing. Hands in his pockets, he raised one leg and kicked hard.

Bang! Bang!

The lock burst. The door flew inward and smashed against the wall with a tremendous crash.

Yu Jie flinched like a startled rabbit. For a moment, he did not dare step closer. He quietly moved aside and let Qin Xian enter first.

Beautiful, delicate dolls filled the apartment, lending it an eerie air. The lights were on, but the owner was nowhere to be seen.

Qin Xian searched the rooms, then opened the bathroom door.

He stopped.

“What is it, Mr. Qin?” Yu Jie asked softly.

Qin Xian stepped aside. “See for yourself.”

Yu Jie leaned in and nearly screamed.

A girl in pajamas lay headfirst in the bathtub. It was filled to the brim, her hair floating across the surface.

She was no longer breathing.
