After the Data Matching Error - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Yin Ran’s brow furrowed even deeper. “Are you sure?”
“S-Sure.”
He looked me up and down.
Ultimately, he said nothing, silently donning his military uniform before preparing to leave.
The moment he stepped out, I hurriedly called the Management Bureau back.
“What is going on?”
“We are very sorry, Ms. Tao. While upgrading our historical data, we discovered that there was an error in your Compatibility Score with Commander Yin.
“He is not your one hundred percent match.”
“We’ve been married for two years, and you’re only finding this out now?”
“Our sincerest apologies. According to the latest data, he still has a high Compatibility Score of eighty percent with you. Theoretically, your marriage should not be affected.”
“You said ‘theoretically.’ What about in reality?”
The Management Bureau staff member fell silent for a moment.
“In reality… there is someone else who is a one hundred percent match for you.”
“Who?”
“That is currently unclear. Some data was lost during the upgrade process, and we are doing our best to recover it.”
Feeling a surge of irritability, I paced back and forth in the vast room.
“Has Yin Ran been notified about this?”
“Not yet. He has blocked us.”
Right, I remembered now.
Back then, Yin Ran was so dissatisfied with the Management Bureau matching him with a human that he had blocked them all immediately.
“Don’t tell him yet. I’ll figure something out.”
“Then we’ll leave it to you!”
The staff member let out a sigh of relief.
This was a nation where beastmen reigned supreme. Relying on their innate physical advantages, beastmen monopolized all positions of power.
Yin Ran was the Supreme Commander of the beastman military.
Offending him was no different from seeking a death sentence.
I had transmigrated into this world about five years ago.
Humans here could only work menial jobs.
I had been working while searching for a way home.
That was until the Management Bureau suddenly showed up at my door, claiming I was the perfect match for the legendary Supreme Commander.
I had accepted the assignment in a heartbeat.
Yin Ran held all the classified data.
By staying with him, I might actually find a way back home.
But Yin Ran didn’t like me.
In this world, a union between a human and a beastman was considered ‘marrying up.’
For a beastman of his high status and power, there was no precedent for marrying a human.
He had set that precedent only because of that damned one hundred percent score.
After our marriage, Yin Ran was busy with work and rarely came home.
To repair our relationship, I used every trick in the book whenever he was home, dragging him into bed every day in an attempt to let feelings grow over time.
Yin Ran loathed those tactics.
I had threatened him, saying that if he didn’t cooperate, I would tell the world that Commander Yin was impotent.
Left with no choice, he could only endure my outrageous behavior with a face full of resistance.
Until today, when the truth finally came out.
It was impossible for Yin Ran to fall in love with me.
For a beastman like him, who had no interest in romance, eighty percent was the same as zero.
Only a one hundred percent score could unlock his heart.
Recalling everything from the past two years, I couldn’t help but shudder.
When the day comes that he learns the truth, will Yin Ran take his anger out on me?
