In a deserted corner, I accepted the call.

The Omega on the other end was still sniffling, but delight colored his voice. “It’s me. It worked.”

I let out a silent breath and smiled. “Congratulations, Young Master Su—or perhaps I should start calling you Mrs. Li.”

The Omega hummed, pleased.

“How many suppressants did Li Wenxiao inject?” I asked.

“Five or six. If the marshal hadn’t arrived and knocked him out, he would have kept going.”

“It scared me to death. If he’d taken too much and thrown his pheromones into disorder, then I…”

“But he marked you successfully in the end, didn’t he? High risk, high reward,” I cut in gently. “Now all you have to do is wait for your engagement to Li Wenxiao.”

I flattered the Omega a little longer, keeping him happy before I ended the call.

I could barely contain my excitement.

I was finally going to be free of Li Wenxiao.
